    I love having this as an accessory to my Surface Pro. It allows me to have a ethernet port, monitor and a multitude of usb ports so I can use it on my desktop. It couldn't be easier!

    The Surface Dock I have found for using the LAN connection is very quirky and many times will not work. I have to just keep re-trying and eventually the Surface Book will recognize the LAN port and start working. I have not attempted the various other ports it provides. When I do I will update this review.

    I purchased this docking station with the intent to use my Surface Pro 4 i7 as my main computer. I have two 27 in monitors and a wireless keyboard/mouse connected to the docking station and it works well but only when I'm actively using it. My main issue is when the computer goes to sleep, it will not wake up when connected to the docking station and I have to do a hard reboot. I've adjusted the power setting to always be on, increased the time the lock screen stays on through regedit, updated to the latest firmware and software updates, and still have not been able to use the computer the next day without having to hard reboot. I guess if you turn your PC off each night, then the dock would work ok, but Microsoft needs to address this issue for users that want to use this as their main computer and have it always on.
