Customers are saying
Customers are enthusiastic about the Surface Dock's ease of use, abundant USB ports, and ability to support multiple monitors. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with Surface devices, while also finding the improved connectivity and charging capabilities beneficial. However, some customers find the price to be high and the weight a bit cumbersome. A shorter-than-ideal cable length was also a recurring point of feedback.

Lousy USB 3.0 Functionality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Microsoft Dock to expand the capabilities of my Microsoft Surface Pro 3. The Ethernet and Video ports of the Dock work as advertised however the USB ports (which are all suppose to be high speed 3.0 ports) result in constant delays, system lock ups and or cause the computer to crash. I've tried all the ports with two different USB 3.0 hard drives and they all have the same failures,. It's important to know that both of the USB 3.0 drives work flawlessly when connected directly to the internal USB port of the Surface Pro 3. Support calls to Microsoft and their attempts to install new drivers for the dock failed to resolve the problems.

It works
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works. Kind of annoying that it's necessary to buy a dock and cords in order to run basically anything off my surface. I'm using this to run dual monitors. Works fine.

why
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a new Microsoft Surface Book computer and had to purchase this dock to get the things I need to be able to connect to the computer. Resent Microsoft forcing me to buy this when it all should have been on the computer.

It does the job - some of the time...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my Surface Pro 2 and docking station with the Surface Book and the new Surface Dock. First - I love all the ports. Couldn't be happier. Having said that, the dock does not work effectively. Regularly the dock does not see my USB connections. It's been significantly frustrating to have to unplug the dock from the power supply, then plug it back in in order to get it to recognize that the ports are active. It happens at least once per day, and frankly, if I had a better choice, I wouldn't have purchased it.
