I expected more from something that costs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expected more from something that costs about $200 and it doesn't have HDMI output either. You still have to buy a 1.2 displayport to hdmi to use it with a monitor. But it's a good concept.

Bought it since summer of 2019 and still works great. Feels heavy but makes me comfortable that it's reliable and made with good material. The weight also makes it more stable to stay in place. Issues with connectivity is 99% of the time NOT the Surface Dock, usually my laptop. If this is encountered, simply unplug it from the laptop and plug it back in.

Also they don't tell you if you if you want to view in HD or need a monitor adaptor you need to buy another $50.00 piece. it does what it says it will do. I have not tried using it with 2 monitors.

Must plug into the surface, unplug it and plug back in a second time every single time in order for it to recognize a secondary monitor.

Also, this isn't the dock's fault, but SP3 has a lot of trouble with peripherals, so maybe thats why they limited the USB ports?

Once I got home, set it all up, turns out you need a special cable to connect it to the monitor. You have been nice to know before getting it home. Now it's set up, it works well!
