I still have not been able to get it to work

The dock doesn't work with the higher resolution. Articles refer to it being a problem the cable, however when I plug that same cable directly into the Surface it works great. Also, my Microsoft keyboard looses connection when plugged into the dock USB, and no issues with the Surface USB. Based on these two issues, I rate the dock as Fair.

I love my Surface Pro 5, and I really needed to be able to have a full desktop setup with a monitor, keyboard and mouse. I have had nothing but a great experience with this dock. It. Just. Works. The only downside - I really wish that it had more than 4 USB ports. Is it totally necessary? No. Am I just being greedy? Yup.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The device is easy to set up, however I had to buy an hdmi to mini display port adapter to be able to plug my monitor into it. Immediately after I got everything plugged in I began encountering problems. The external monitor wouldn't wake up from sleep mode. A key would randomly get stuck on the keyboard (always a different one), constant internet disconnected when connected through Ethernet. This product is largely unusable for me. I intend to exchange it for another one and see if I get a better experience.
