I bought one for my Surface Pro 6, downloaded the Microsoft Installer, installed the firmware update to the dock and could not get the ethernet adapter to provide stable service. I returned the dock and got a replacement. Same issues with a different dock. I'd really like Microsoft to get this device right, it has so much potential!! Thankfully Best Buy stood by their word and accepted the return. In-store Geek Squad also tried to troubleshoot it but could not get a permanent fix to it. If you look at the reviews you will see that this dock either works or fails. It's too bad cause the Surface Pro 6 only has one Mini DisplayPort and one USB 3 for connectivity other than the proprietary Surface interface.. Really like the Surface Pro 6 but thumbs down on the dock.

Does not work as well as I expected

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Anytime the Surface Book goes to hibernation, or any state thatresembles a low power mode, the Dock gives up on the attached monitors. I have to unplug the dock (basically a power cycle) to get the monitors to be recognized again. This is a very poor experience for a $3k setup between the surface and the dock. I should not have to risk power cycles to get the monitors to come back after hibernation.

This dock allowed me to have a dual monitor, printer, and SD card reader, and power supply all hooked and ready to go. Now when I'm at my office I have on cable to connect and I am ready to go!
