I took it to my computer repair guy and he said if a Surface laptop has a problem it usually happens at the start or much later. In my case it happened at the start. He reinstalled the operating system and its now good to go. That was about three weeks ago and no problems since.

It has facial recognition, which makes the start up super fast. I got the 15" model because I like the bigger screen, It's not as light as I thought it would be, but it's fine. Can't really say a lot about the performance, since I haven't had it that long, but my expectations are that this will last me for many years.

As this was a purchase for my wife if I were to consider another computer as an alternative to my MacBook Pro I would find it hard not to choose the Surface, but now that we have both we don’t have to.

Lasted less than a year

Have been very happy with it, performance was good, nice size, and lightweight. When turning it on this week - May 2021 - nothing appears but a black screen, no sign in screen, just glitchy & black . Just in time for final exams. Returning to Microsoft but will take weeks & if they can't fix it, will get a refurbished model. Would not recommend.
