Do not buy open box laptops from Best Buy. This was the worse purchase I have made for a computer. I am returning the product. Picked it up and found out the OS was corrupted. Took it back the next day they fixed it, quickly, but got home and installed the "free" security software, and the whole thing crashed. Windows lost the Wifi option to connect to the internet, the keyboard and the mouse pad drivers were completely gone and unusable.

Would never buy this laptop again. Very slow to run Adobe programs, lags when multiple windows are open simultaneously. Screen cracked after 8 months of light use. Cost to replace the screen is the full purchase price of a new machine. Should have bought the extended warranty, but was advised it wasn’t needed because the screen is “indestructible space glass.” Extremely disappointed in both this Microsoft product and BestBuy’s terrible service.

Purchased this laptop in late Nov 2019. returned it for an exchange because the bluetooth connection was constantly dropping my mouse and keyboard (both microsoft), mid January. The replacement has now gone into blue screen bit-locker boot loop at startup, it just will not boot, "cannot find boot drive" Suspected HDD or motherboard failure. 2 laptops in 4 months, now is outside of return window. Worked great until it didn't.

I am sure this is due to COVID-19, but I cannot get through to the Geek Squad, in spite of paying nearly $200 for extended service and staying on-line waiting for them, only to be bumped off after waiting for hours.
I am having a problem with this computer that was not disclosed to me at the time of sale.

I have had to take this laptop in for 2 services due to a cracked screen. This laptop sits on my dresser and has hardly left the space and yet there is another crack on the screen. It was a difficult process to have it replaced previously. Do not buy this laptop.

I wanted to live this laptop. But I had it one week and it blue screened for an unknown reason. Everything about it was beautiful but beauty does not out weigh functionality. Even it only last week it’s not worth purchasing.

The surface is slow and while the screen is beautiful it has several issues. My unit was not particularly defective they are all known to "studder" and blackout randomly.

Got this for college a few years ago and it’s still amazing. The screen shape is taller which makes it perfect for writing papers and doing work with a split screen. Now, years later, I have graduated college and it still runs like its brand new.

This laptop has been a nightmare for me. The first model I bought restarted every time I closed the lid of the laptop. I asked for a replacement, which was a nightmare in itself. Once I got the replacement, the new laptop had the same issue (thanks Microsoft). Then, all of a sudden, my wifi driver stopped working. I was told to reset it, however, now it’s perpetually showing the windows logo and won’t properly boot up. If I could go back, I would never purchase a surface again. This is the last straw, I’m going Mac from now on.

Constant Blue Screens

I don't typically review products, but I have had a lot of issues with the Microsoft Surface Laptop since the day I bought it (I have the 2, purchased last year). It blue screens constantly, and I have taken it to be repaired by Geek Squad more than a handful of times. I read bad reviews about this laptop before buying it, but should have taken them more seriously. An employee at Best Buy ensured me that this was a great laptop, but I should have done more research myself. I would not recommend this laptop to anyone.

I just purchased this on Cyber Monday and was excited about the great deal that I got on it. I purchased it brand new and noticed some black dots in the screen while I was setting it up. What I thought was some dust on the screen was actual pixel damage! SO DISAPPOINTED with this laptop and with Windows. I'll be switching back to a macbook. This laptop was clearly not built well and I don't recommend it to anyone.
