Let me just say that this laptop is impressive. It does everything I expected and more. I thought this was going to be a secondary device but I have decided to replace my old MacBook and a Dell laptop with the Surface. Let's start with the packaging. It comes in a sturdy paper box and everything is recyclable. I mean regular recycling, no need to take any components to a special site. This was the first thing that impressed me.  The color is sandstone which appears like a blush pink and it's very elegant. Even though it comes off as pink it is still very gender-neutral. It's also super lightweight so you can hold it in one hand and navigate the screen or keyboard with the other hand. Speaking of the keyboard, it is so responsive and quiet. The keys feel like they bounce back under your touch it's very comfortable to type for long periods of time. The touchscreen is responsive from corner to corner and no complaints.  processing is lightning fast for me. It came out of the box with enough charge to set up Windows and download antivirus software and start surfing the web. Once it's charged the battery lasts a very long time. My son takes it to school where he uses it all day and charges his iPhone with it and the battery barely hits the halfway mark.  I am very impressed with this laptop and would suggest it to anyone who's in the market for the latest technology. 

The Surface Laptop 5 is a beautiful piece of equipment. Weighing in at only 2.8 lbs,, it is light and looks amazing. The 13.5 inch PixelSense display has a resolution of 2256 x 1504 and is a pleasure to look at. It is bright and colors are vivid and text is crisp and clear. In my opinion, it is one of the best displays on a laptop. The Laptop 5 got a processor upgrade from an 11th generation Intel CPU to a 12th generation, which is built on the Intel EVO platform. For some reason, Microsoft is no longer offering the Laptop line with an AMD processor. Microsoft claims the 12th generation CPU helps give the laptop up to 18 hours of battery life, Like most manufacturers battery claims, which are often not reflective of average daily use, I would be surprised if this laptop ever gets to 18 hours, but from my usage, I would say 15 hours is doable. It all depends on your usage. The 12th gen CPU is definitely faster in benchmarks, though again, how much of that shows in day to day usage is anybody's guess. The Laptop 5 has also been upgraded with a USB-C port that now supports Thunderbolt, though I wish it offered at least 2 USB-C ports. I don't feel like the Laptop 5 is a must-have upgrade from a Laptop 4, but if you are in the market for a fantastic laptop that is fast and and looks amazing, you don't need to look any farther than the Surface Laptop 5.

My daughter is starting college this fall and this computer has proved to be a great laptop. She absolutely loves it.
