Good laptop overall, its fast processor and dedicated graphics card for video editing, a vibrant and high-resolution display, a comfortable keyboard and responsive touchpad, long battery life makes the laptop a good one.

I Wanted to Love This — The Processor Ruined It

The Microsoft Surface is one of the most beautiful laptops I’ve ever used. The screen is absolutely gorgeous, the keyboard and trackpad feel excellent, and Windows Hello makes logging in effortless. Battery life is outstanding — easily one of the best parts of this device. For browsing, streaming, and light productivity, it feels fast and premium. However, none of that can outrun the hardware limitations of the Snapdragon ARM processor. I quickly ran into software incompatibilities with apps and casual games I rely on. Some programs wouldn’t install at all, others ran inconsistently, and it made me constantly wonder what else might not work in the future. I truly wanted this to be my daily laptop. The hardware design is nearly perfect. But until Windows on ARM reaches better compatibility, the processor ultimately forced me to return it. This could be an amazing machine someday — it’s just not there yet.

I have to say, coming from MacBook I didn’t have any regrets. This Surface works real well, maybe a tad better since battery life is great and the apps I use work real well.

I was honestly worried about 2 things: 1. The screen size being 13.8 2. buying the plus version with only 16gb of ram. I was blown away by how fast this machine is. The screen size is perfect and the machine really flows. I was running over 15 tabs in chrome while I was listening to spotify and doing light programming and it didnt even break a sweat. battery life has been solid at about 8 ish to 9 hours on 70% brightness. Very very happy with my choice.

I recently purchased the Microsoft Surface Laptop Copilot+ PC (13.8”, Snapdragon X Plus, 7th Ed) and overall I’m impressed — it delivers on many of its promises. The build feels premium, the display is terrific (bright, sharp, with great color accuracy), the battery life is solid, and the inclusion of Windows AI features / Copilot+ has proven useful for productivity and everyday tasks. That said, there is one downside I’ve run into: the 16 GB of RAM sometimes feels a bit limiting. When I push the laptop — e.g. having several browser tabs open, doing light photo editing, or running a few utility apps in the background — the system occasionally shows lag or slower-than-ideal responsiveness. It isn’t a dealbreaker, but for heavier multitasking or more demanding workflows, more memory would make a noticeable difference. What I liked: • Strong performance for everyday use • Excellent battery life • Gorgeous screen and solid design • Good storage (512 GB) — plenty of room for files, apps, etc. What could be better: • Memory could be better — 16 GB feels tight for heavier multitasking or more resource-demanding apps • Occasionally, when pushed, there’s a bit of slowdown attributable to RAM constraints Overall: If your usage is moderate — web browsing, office-style productivity, media consumption, light creative work — this laptop offers a lot of value. But if you often run many apps at once, work with larger files, or want headroom for future needs, you might want to consider a version with more RAM (if available), or budget accordingly.

This Surface Laptop is exactly what I needed for remote work and school. Setup was a breeze straight from Best Buy, and the performance has been rock solid. The Copilot+ integration saves me time with quick access to tools and chat responses. The 512GB storage gives plenty of room for files, photos, and applications. It’s lightweight and easy to carry around campus or to meetings, yet powerful enough for demanding work tasks. Battery life easily lasts all day — no need to hunt for outlets constantly. Best Buy’s service was excellent too. Highly recommend!

I purchased the SL7 13.8" with the Snapdragon X Plus chip and 16GB of ram for my mother. The fit and finish is excellent and the aluminum build feels like a Macbook. So far, I haven't found any software compatibility issues with the ARM chip. However, I do think these would be an even better value with AMD Zen 5 Strix Point chips. Battery life is advertised at ~ 20 hours, but in reality is closer to 8. The screen is very bright, but is glossy and reflective. The keyboard has plenty of travel and the haptic trackpad is excellent. Idle RAM utilization is sitting at around 70%, but that is mostly due to memory caching. Having said that, I think 24GB would be the sweet spot for the base 13.8" and 15" models. The online assistant price matched Micro Center and I was able to score it for even lower than the advertised sales price at Best Buy.

I really wanted a touchscreen laptop that also looked very nice and this laptop is definitely that. Sometimes I don’t want to use the mouse so having the touch screen is something I’m very used to. The look of it is so so nice, battery life is pretty prominent. I could use it all day and battery life would sustain it. I’ve had it for barely a month so I don’t know how it will be a year from now. I hope it’ll be worth the pay.

This laptop is exactly what you expect from a first generation snapdragon version of the amazing surface series. This thing lasts a long time on the battery and does. It struggle with any daily tasks you throw at it. One caveat is that as others state in reviews this will “for now” have compatibility issues with some apps and processes due to the change from x86 to ARM architecture. Besides that this is an amazing work horse if you want a clean notebook.
