It runs well and is super light and small which is good for school, but the battery doesn’t last as long as I would like it to.

I'm usually a fan of the surface pro computers, however, with this particular model, the screen flickers. I've already exchanged it once thinking I had just gotten a defective model and now the new is flickering. There appears to be a hardware issue with this model. My kid loves it so I decided to keep it but I'm concerned that it won't last. I did buy the service plan just in case.

Bought it for my fourteen year old daughter who picked this over the new MacBook Air. She loves it so far and has had no issues with connectivity or video quality.

This is a great laptop. I purchased it for my daughter as a Christmas present. She has had no issues with it. It is sleek, portable and it has a decent processor.

Grand kid's computer was failing picked up this unit and was pleasantly surprised, in less than thirty minutes it was up and running. Added the mouse, a plus.

I was provided this product through Best Buy’s Tech Insider Network for the purpose of providing honest and unbiased reviews based on my real usage. The surface laptop go is snappy, portable, and built for on the go use. The slim design and 10th Gen Intel processor, and all day battery makes it perfect for those who are on the go. The small form factor provides a lot of flexibility. You can easily pick up and carry the laptop with one hand, even opening the lid can be done one handed. The laptop quickly wakes up from sleep so picking up and going from place to place isn’t an issue. The fingerprint sensor on the power button gets you back to your desktop in a snap. The minimalistic design is clean and functional and I think most people shopping for a portable laptop will enjoy it. The 10th Gen i5 provides plenty of power. With boost clocks up to 3.6 ghz, it has no issues navigating programs, opening documents, emails, or web pages. This has perfect application for school, work, or if sitting around watching movies is your thing, it does that too. When it’s not turbo boosting, this low power chip is saving you power. I’ve used this laptop on and off all day without having to put it on charge. I love the super smooth trackpad and the keyboard isn’t bad either. The keys are little spongy for my taste but the trackpad is like A `dragging your finger across silk. It has a very smooth feeling with very little resistance. The touch screen is very responsive although not the best looking monitor, but I feel it’s a warranted compromise to keep the price down. Finally, the things I don’t love about this device. It does get a bit warm when using it while charging in your lap. The laptop is passively cooled so it makes sense this would happen, but may want to use a book or pillow to use as a buffer when charging. The display isn’t anything special but the touch screen is a nice to have. This laptop comes in windows “S” mode which I don’t particularly care for. Final Thoughts: This ultra portable laptop makes few compromises to offer all day battery, snappy response, and a sleek design all while being affordable. It’s the perfect size to take on the go, and light enough to sit in your lap for hours.

I love this Surface. I take it with me everywhere I go. It’s so fun to use and it has a great interface. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone.

Out of the box my first impression of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go is that it is very attractive. The look and feel is very high quality worthy of the surface name. It is very light at only 2.4 lbs. The top cover and the keyboard area are metal. The bottom panel is a plastic material, but it also feels high quality. The keyboard is as good or better than any keyboard I have used, even of far more expensive laptops. And, the mouse pad is large with a nice feel and very accurate. The 12.4” touchscreen is in a 3:2 aspect ratio. I didn’t know how much I preferred this until I used it. The screen resolution, though not as high as my other laptops, is good. Colors are bright and text is easy to read. Microsoft Surface products are known for the great quality of their hinges and this one doesn’t disappoint. You can open with one hand, movement is smooth and precise, There is no movement when using the touchscreen. It comes with 1 USB-A and 1 UAB-C, as well as a proprietary charging cable. It has a 39 watt power adapter which charges fairly quickly. The Unit I received has 8gb of ram and a 256gb ssd hard drive. The Surface Laptop Go comes with Windows Home S. This is a closed operating system that only allows you to download apps from the Windows Store. It is intended to keep the laptop safe from viruses and malware. You can install full Windows Home for free, but once you do that you cannot go back. For purposes of this review I have left it in Widows Home S. Set up was quick and easy, You can have Cortana voice assistant walk you through it. I have used this laptop for several hours a day, for several days. It is light and portable, does not get hot during normal use and I have not once heard any fan noise. So, why only 3 stars? 1)The keyboard is not backlit. I do not always use my laptop in a well lit area and without backlighting it becomes difficult or impossible to use. 2)When scrolling by touch the text becomes very jittery and difficult to read. I read many articles and I like to scroll slowly by touch as I read. I find that I can’t do it with this laptop. 3)I hate proprietary cables. Since you can charge via USB-C anyway, why not just give us a second USB-C port instead of the proprietary port necessary for this cable. Why can’t I just have the same charging cable for my phone and my laptop. Also, I know that the cable is designed to come out easily so that you don’t knock the computer off of a table or desk if you hit the cable. But, this cable comes out too easy. It constantly falls out when charging. 4)Though the screen can be made bright enough, I find that I have to have the screen at least 70% brightness. I believe that this is affecting the battery life as I am only getting about 5 hours of battery life. That’s less than half of what Microsoft claims. In summary, this computer had the potential to be great. The quality of the build, the keyboard and mouse, the 3:2 aspect ratio touchscreen, the size and design are all home runs. And a couple of my issues are nitpicks. But, the lack of a backlit keyboard and the jittery text when scrolling by touch make this difficult to recommend.

I absolutely love this laptop. Searched around for something new to use with returning to school, that is easy to use and found this one.

No complaints. This replaces an old laptop. It is much quicker and lighter. I definitely would recommend.
