Overall it’s a great laptop. I use it for school and it’s so compatible with a lot of my projects and the softwares we use at my university. I would say you need to carry your charger at all times, because since I bought the battery life isn’t great.

Thin and good design and capable of performing all the tasks i need (i do not need extreme processing power). Battery life is great (if you do not let your kid play video games )

The Microsoft -Surface Laptop Go 2 comes in options. I want to emphasize up front, that this review is for the 8 GB RAM 256 GB SSD STORAGE option. I cannot stress enough the differences between this and the 4GB RAM option. The ONLY viable option is this 8GB model. I would never, not in a million years, recommend a 4GB laptop to anyone in 2022. Cell phones have more RAM than that. Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about the beautiful little beast that is the Microsoft has made for us. The Surface Pro Laptop 2 comes with a 11th Gen Intel Core i5 Processor, in addition to the 8GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD Storage. That's a middle of the road processor that will give most users an excellent experience. The same can be said for the 8 GB of RAM. With a laptop this size, you will not be playing high demand PC game, but you will get hours of work on any Microsoft Office applications, web browsing, watching YouTube, shopping and 2 flights worth of movies on one battery charge. My experience with the battery was more in the 10-11 hour range, as opposed to the stated 13.5 hours in the listed specs. The size and weight of this device are it's standout features, second only to it's build quality. This thing is small. Like, really small. Weighing in at 2.48 lbs, and sporting a sleek aluminum / polycarbonate resin chassis, with a 12.4 inch screen, this Surface Laptop Go 2 (boy that's a mouthful) is a travelers dream. It feels super sturdy when using it or carrying it around. And honestly, it's just really good looking.The aluminum is every where your hands touch (except keys) and the polycarbonate is on the bottom. Also on the bottom are two rubber strips across the length of the base, to prevent sliding. They are much more useful than the four rubber dots most laptops have for feet, which eventually pop off.to be lost forever, along with single socks that were eaten by dryers. The Surface Laptop Go 2 also comes with one USB A , one USB C port and a 3.5 headphone jack. Then there's the power cord. The power cord is......weird. It looks and works, remarkably like an apple magsafe except this one has the contacts exposed. If Microsoft was going to follow this design, I don't understand why they didn't copy it completely and recess the contacts. It strikes me as the most likely point of failure as these devices age. But only time will tell. While I'm on the subject of looking like a competitor, the whole chassis, looks remarkably like an apple product in look, feel and design. So much so, I kept expecting to see a piece of fruit on the lid. So far, we've looked at what Microsoft include in the Surface laptop Go 2. Now let's see what they left out. Some of the compromises you'll make with this laptop are so glaring, I can't rank them. So, in no particular order, here's what we're missing. More USB ports. Honestly we need at least one more A and C port on this laptop. Especially if that weird connector breaks and you're stuck charging on the USB C. A memory card slot. This is especially important on a small portable laptop like this. Backlit keyboard. OK, yes, I'm a little spoiled. You don't really NEED a backlit keyboard. But, once you get used to it, you can't work in the dark without it. It makes me crazy. So, looking at everything the Surface Laptop 2 has to offer, and everything it lacks, I can say it's an amazing device for users who frequently travel for work. And by frequently, I mean more than 3 times a year. If you do not fit that very specific demographic, I think you can get more bang for your buck with a slightly larger laptop.

It’s a good computer but it’s weird how at the most randomest times the screen goes completely black meanwhile it on and it stops working.

I really loved the look of this lap top, but unfortunately I had problems with both brand- new lap tops. The first one I received the screen went black on the 4th day and couldn’t get it to work, took it in and had it replaced, Second one by the end of first week with it, computer did not want to turn on, left it alone for a day, and next day it turned on, but returned it. I will say customer service at best buy was phenomenal.

Best computer under $700 in my opinion if you don't mind a small screen. You can always connect it to a bigger screen or two
