Purchased as an upgrade to the original pen that came with my 1st gen Surface Studio. This pen has the tilt feature which as a commercial artist I wanted. The clip has been removed from this model. Same magnetic storage feature, so will attach to Surface devices Surface 3 to current models. Easily connects wirelessly to your Surface device. Will not work with Surface 1 and 2 and RT. Those tablets use Wacom input technology.

This is a very good digital pen, just make sure it works with your laptop. I originally tried an HP Envy, for which this pen worked very well. However, I just didn't like that particular 2-in-1. I returned that laptop for the Lenovo Yoga 6 and it is Wacom compatible. That meant back with the Surface Pen to be replaced with a Bamboo Ink. I believe I like the Surface pen a bit better, but it isn't compatible. I did return the pen, but not based on its merit, because of compatibility.

The pen works great with my computer. It is easy to use and gets those fine lines. Not necessarily worth the price for what it is.

This pen will open MS office programs with a click of the eraser side. It works really well with a MS surface.

I got the pen to complement a new SURFACE Studio. It has been a unique experience for an experienced artist and one I would recommend to any doubters. This is not the 'best' pen MS offers according to the ads but, it is hard to imagine a better starting point.

Bought the Surface pen to use on a newly purchased Surface Pro 7. Very good quality but quite expensive for a stylus.u

The official Surface Pen has proved excellent in use. It is comfortable in my hand, feels natural against the touch screen, writes with no lag, has flawless palm rejection and attaches firmly to the magnetized side of the device. My only problem with the hardware was that it failed to pair automatically with my Surface as the enclosed instructions stated it would. Though far from expert, I'm comfortable with technology and was able to pair it manually in seconds. I suspect my experience was atypical so I did not subtract any stars because of this.

I own the SP 7 and the pen makes it much easier to use the touchscreen than using my fingers. It works as advertised. It is not as smooth as similar items such as the Apple Pencil, but it gets the job done. The one thing that annoyed me was that if you hold the pen a little away from the screen, it still works. Sometimes, it would unintentionally click on something before I had a chance to physically touch the screen with the pen. Other than that, it’s worth investing in if you want the full Surface Pro experience.
