    Purchased pen because associate insisted that the pen I got with my Surface 3 wouldn't work with my new Surface 4. Only pen available the day I was there was a open box item. Associate tested it before I left the store but the next day when I went to pair it to my Surface it wouldn't pair. Instead of a white light during pairing I only got a red light. Returned the pen for that reason and the fact that the pen from a Surface 3 works fine with a Surface 4 because its the SAME pen!

    This thing constantly looses connectivity. You have to pull the batteries to wake it up. When it works it's fine but the ability to press a button and have the surface take certain actions is a large part of why I purchased the surface. Having to press buttons repeatedly and then take the battery out and back in every time makes this useless as is the surface for the most part. It's not as good as an iPad when in table mode and not as good as a laptop when in laptop mode.

    I bought it because I was informed that it would be compatible with the Lenovo Yoga 720 and it is not. I was forced to look for an alternative because Best Buy does not sell Lenovo optical pens.

    I actually really like this pen, and plan to buy a new one. But mine broke really fast. Its a little more delicate that would I would want. But overall, really neat feature of the surface.

    It takes a while to get used to it. Not totally necessary to use your Surface but pretty nifty to have. I figure if you are more of a pro or power user then it would be very helpful.
