Most surface pro review say to purchase a secondary pen. I did just that. I really like the color and the ability to switch pens as needed.

As a student taking notes is very important in my life, the pen feels like a real pen and the touch is very accurate, so it writes like one too.

This is the second pen as the first one was defective. However, now that I have a working pen it works great and is a helpful tool with the Surface.

I bought the Surface 3 without a pen or keyboard. I waited about two months before purchasing the pen. I wish I had purchased it with the Tablet. Yes you can get by without it. However the pen excels at quickly right click menu displays instead of having to stop and hold then wait for the right click menu to display. I would recommend purchasing it at the same time. the keyboard isn't needed if you learn the pen. Read about the tips then choose your tip by use. I write very small and love 0.5mm pens so the default tip works best for my writting.

I had the one that comes with the Surface but I got this one because it's BLUE! It works great, very handy and easy to use and it's blue!

I probably had my Surface Book for no more than a month before losing the pen. Tore apart the house, sent around a "Lost Stylus" flyer at work, all to no avail. My thought is that the original silver just blends too well with standard pens and it's probably in someone's desk drawer or pencil cup, living out its days unnoticed... Anyway, I replaced with the gold and, for months now, it remains non-basic enough to avoid the same fate as its predecessor. If you're fancy, go for one of the brighter colors, but the gold works for me...

THis surface pen is an excellent replacement or spare pen for my surface pro 3 tablet. It comes with several spare pen tips for you to change around if you like. Pairs up nice and easy and I love the graphite color :-) highly recommended!

It is a great pen, and I got a color my kids won't touch. The only thing is that I was told the Tablet I got didn't come with one and it did. The price was a little high.

My other surface pen broke from the tip. This one came with extra tips to switch out. Love the rubbery feeling "eraser" it's a lot better than the grey one with the purple bottom. Looks more professional and feels more solid too.

Easy pair with surface tablet. Add a pencil to the table. Acts like a mouse or to draw in the tablet.

I like the feel of the pen. I like that it sticks to the side of the surface. I like the added eraser button. Overall satisfied.

Purchased for family members Surface Pro. Had fun using it when connected it however wasn't used after that. Waste of money. Depends what you use computer for. Highly recommend if you intend on using it.

Had a silver pen that came with my Surface Pro4. Wanted an extra, so I bought the black one. Discovered it had multiple stylus tips. Didn't know that, since original that came with the Surface only had the installed tip.

Never skips a beat. I didn't know how well it would work, but it works with no lag and does everything I need it to.

If you really want to take advantage of everything that makes the surface pro the fantastic device that it is, then you have to purchase the surface pen. I wanted to give this item a lower rating for the mere fact that it should be included with the surface pro, but felt that would take away from this particular device. It really is a fantastic tool, and a must have, if you own the surface pro. That being said, Microsoft really should be including these with the surface pro...

My previous pen was damaged. Love the Surface Pen. Works great and the blue color makes it easier to find it dropped.

This pen works great on my HP laptop. I've been able to edit photos, write notes and doodle without any issues.

The pen offers flexibility with the tip kit. Different drawing programs work better with different tips. I love the pen.

So far so good (only one week)...first stylus died after only two weeks-could still write on Surface screen but it the pairing, eraser and button-press access to OneNote features stopped working...will see

There pen works just like it says it will work. It's my third one because they keep breaking but I need them to work my Surface. The list one broke after I changed the battery in it. After I bought this one, Microsoft agreed to replace my 2nd one that broke. It's taken them 3 months to do, but at least they replaced it. The Microsoft Store at Best Buy was no help, basically just directed me to the website. Buy it because you need it, not because you want it.
