Works perfectly with my Surface Studio and tablet, absolutely love the color and soft texture. Also, has a good weight to it, I do a lot of drawing on the computer and find that the weight makes it feel more like the real deal. My favorite part is being able to program the eraser and how easily it snaps to the side of my screen so it doesn't get lost!

The pen fits in your hand nicely without interference of pressing the button on the side. I like this pen significantly more than the slim pen 2. It feels more natural but it doesn't fit in the key board for the 9.

Love the way this works with any Windows laptop. It's soooo easy to use. Just turn it on and go! I have a similar product by Lenovo, and I can't get it to work with my Lenovo laptop. Frustrating. This is a much better product to use with any Windows laptop especially with Zoom calls now. I'm tutoring someone in math using this pen to write on the whiteboard in Zoom. Works extremely well!

    Specifically Useful

I find the pen only useful for tasks that I would normally hand write. This means tasks like marking up a pdf or word document, taking notes during meetings, or annotating screenshots or photos. Some people say they use it for Windows operation (moving files, selecting things on the screen, games), but I find the pen more cumbersome for those. If you want to right click, you have to find the little button on the side, or wait a second after you contact the screen and it will eventually register as a right mouse click. Trying to grab a corner of a window and resize it takes extra patience. I find it better just to use the trackpad on the keyboard. I think the Apple Pen works better (smoother flow, better palm rejection), but then you have to use the whole Apple ecosystem. For those saying the Wacom Bamboo is better, I have one word for you: "eraser". Having the back end of the Microsoft Pen as an eraser is as natural as using a pencil to write notes. Yes you can program one of the buttons on the Wacom pen to erase, but then you have to find it on the side of the pen as you're writing/drawing. Overall a good pen. Only needed for specific uses, but the best solution if you want to takes notes, write on photos/screenshots.

This pen is excellent for my surface pro 7+. I love it! The battery life is very long! Very easy to use. Writes just like a pen/pencil. I love the touch options (pressing the eraser part) to take me to apps on the device. Very nice function. 10/10!

I got this pen at a great price (just because the box had been opened) for my husband and I for Christmas to use with our Surface book. It's awesome! It's great for artistic purposes, but also is a cool pen to use when you'd rather write instead of type. I love how sensitive it is and how well it works with our Surface book laptop. Plus it's a cool feature and easy to keep track of with it magnetically sticking to the side of the laptop.

So i like the feel of this pen in my hand. I was disappointed about the "red". After talking to my mother and Google, I was informed that the Red Poppy flower is more of a redish orange. So with that in mind, the color is exact as described. But the function of the pen is great and connected to the surface perfectly

Do You Really Need It Maybe, Should You Buy It Yes

Do you really need it? Maybe. Should you buy it? Yes! If you are new to the Surface product line then you need to experience all it has to offer and that includes the Surface Pen. The Surface line up offers many ala cart add-ons and options one of which is the Surface Pen. With the ability to physically (digitally) write on your Surface it is worth investing in the Surface Pen even if it is not a part of your daily routine. What you need to keep in mind is the Surface Pen is far more than your typical stylus. Its customizable buttons are great shortcut tools for taking screen shots or navigating through presentations. You can reprogram them for various different actions in most of your applications. Bottom line is the Surface Pen is not necessarily a novelty accessory it can be a great tool but you also need to take a few minutes to learn how it will best work for you. Check out YouTube for some great tips, tricks and hacks for your Surface Pen. Just like the other great Surface accessories the Surface Pen can be pricey. Especially if you don't really know qll that you can donwith it other than writing. Luckily just like the other great Surface accessories you can find it on sale regularly.

    Great Pen with Precision

The pen works well, I've tested it with the Surface Book 2, Surface Pro 9 and the Surace Go. The magnet adheres well on the side of the screen. I prefer not to leave it attached while stowed away. (It has come loose in the bag and I wouldn't want it rubbing against the laptop casing.) However, it's strong enough to stay put through most occasions of rough vigor. Extra options for the eraser button must be configured but worth the effort. I picked the Cobalt Blue to match the signature model of my Surface Pro 6 keyboard casing. Aside from being less visible in the dark, I prefer the blue over the silver model. It has a soft matt finish that feels great against the skin. Did I mention it handles light marring better? The battery will last at least a year. Easy to replace. (pull top, AAAA battery) The price IS a little high but it's better quality than any other third party compatible pen.

I bought this pen to use with my HP Envy x360. I can confirm (from my experience) this pen does indeed work with the HP envy, including pressure sensitivity and customizing buttons. The silver color matches as well.

Great pen to use with your surface. Glides seamlessly across the screen even with a screen protector. My only two issues are the proce point and the fact that it's not a rechargeable pen. You would think with this price tag it would be. But regardless it works great and the battery life seems. To be good I've had it for over a year and haven't had to change them yet. Though I don't use it everyday so keep that in mind.

This pen is easy to use. Feels more like using a real pen than other stylus I have used in the past. Also the end is an eraser. My only complaint is that to my knowledge you have to download seperate extensions if you want to use the pen outside the white board or microsoft office. I will edit my review if I realize I am wrong. It is still new to me.

I didn't buy this pen when I bought my surface pro because the pen was so expensive and I didn't think I'd use it. After having my surface pro for about a month, I started to see how the pen could be handy. I mainly use it for playing games because some things are just easier with a pen than a mouse! My main concern, besides price, was how to keep from losing it. But, it is magnetic and sticks right to the side of your surface pro. I used a rewards certificate to bring the price down a bit, but I still think it was worth it. It does use a AAAA (yes, 4 As) battery. They are not as prevalent as AA or AAA, but Best Buy, Lowe's and Walgreen's carries them. I'm still on the battery that came with the pen so the battery life is good.
