My first Dock I returned because the mini Display Port in the Dock was loose and only made intermittent connection. The replacement has worked very, very well. I'm running two large external monitors through that one port (with a "splitter" device I bought separately), and a host of other USB peripherals. I also use a BT keyboard and wireless mouse when using the Dock. It all works very well. I just drop my SP3 in the slot, slide the side-holders inward and boot it up. Reverse that to take my SP3 with me when I leave. One thing to keep in mind with the Dock is that it is different from a USB hub. With a USB hub the signal from the SP3 goes through your USB 3 port and as such is subject in performance to the demand on the SP3's CPU. The Dock sends its signals through the SP3's charging port and thus uses mostly the GPU thus not being dependent on the varying load on the CPU as with USB hubs. Using the dock allows you a more even performance experience while providing a number of USB 3 and USB 2 ports in addition to the mini Display Port mentioned above. It also charges your SP3 while it's docked...a very NICE piece of equipment!

Turns the surface 3 into a desktop for most tasks. Am currently running a 23" Samsung monitor off this with no problems along with a 128GB solid state backup drive.

Attach to the docking station and bam. I have connection to a second monitor, wired network and external speakers. Just like popping a laptop on a dock. Works great.

We have switched all of our sales staff to this instead of desktops or laptops for increased mobility. Have not gone backwards with computing power. These truly are the first tablets that can replace your "traditional computer".

Yes, it is a docking station. Yes, it holds the surface pro. it's best feature is its recharging capability. Other than that, quite unimpressive. For a docking station, it sorely lacks a variety of ports. I plug a Toshiba docking hub into it so that I can have a greater variety and number of ports for my printer, screens, speakers, etc. If it didn't hold my surface pro so nicely for display, it would be kind of a waste.

Very easy to travel with and able to run all my normal applications. With USB functionality, this is the step in the right direction.

Great idea for a stationary setting for your Pro Surface 3. I did not find that for the price this item was necessary to keep with my tablet. Also a bit bulky and might as well carry around a desktop type computer.

The docking station is a tremendous addition to the amazing Pro 3. Connections to additional monitors, internet feed, speakers, all with no hassel.

I like the magnetic pen holder on the side and how easy it is to snap in the Surface Pro 3 for charging.

I bought this for my husband to use as he is using his Surface so that he doesn't have to strain his eyes when using it for a long period of time.

This stand gives you external power for external harddrives. It's big and bulky, but it does it's job.

My only complaint is that I sometimes have to reenter my multiple monitors settings but that is probably a windows issue not a hardware issue.

I already had one myself for my Surface Pro 3 but I purchased this one for my wife. Her only complaint was that I didn't buy her one sooner.

I purchased this to use at the office and it has been perfect. I always prefer a hard wired network connection and this fills that need.

This dock is the best. Easy in and out for the Surface and let's you connect screen via HDMI and extra storage.Compact and well designed.

I like to be able to dock my SP3 at my home theater and stream music from my NAS through the stereo with JRiver MC 21. Works great!

Simply effective way to convert to desktop mode and get more connectivity without trying to find cables and adapters. Just plug and go.

I thought I would use it while at home in my office but it does not charge my tablet at the same time. I returned it because it was not a useful piece of equipment, just took up unnecessary space.

Performs as advertised. This completes my surface computer experience. The dock sits at work and allows me to use many peripherals.

A great piece if engineering. Surface for in easily and looks great. The magnetic stylus holder us also a nice touch. Great product!
