We got this keyboard to go with my 13 year old son’s new Surface Pro. It is a great keyboard for students - sturdy, easy to attach/detach, offers good protection (although we do also have a robust case), and works well. No complaints!

awesome add to the tablet and we have it attached to it so not more looking for the pen. It is kid friendly and easy to use. I do recommend it since it is made for this tablet.

Although the Surface is Bluetooth capable, nothing replaces the functionality and feel of the Surface Type Cover. Available in different colors and with fingerprint ID. Black seems to be the best fit for everyday/outdoor use.

I've had the very first surface pro and that keyboard, and I have a Surface Pro 4 still, so I've been dealing with Surface Pro keyboards for a while. They have come quite a distance since those first ones. Trackpad actually WORKS consistently and smoothly. The included backlight is a much needed feature for those of us who do a lot of work at night, or just don't turn on the lights in our offices. Key travel is decent, so for a touch typist like me it is comfortable and relatively quick. I have few false hits on it. Of course the magnetic snapping to the base of the computer is a great feature. The way it doubles as a protective cover is also handy. It's pricey for what you get though, unless you get it on sale like I did, then it's a much better value. I like this one when I'm using it on a surface, but since it's useless for when you need to use the Surface Pro on your lap, I also had to pick up a Brydge keybaord that's made to turn the Surface Pro into a laptop type computer. Best of both worlds that way.

If you get a Surface Pro, you have to get this. It is very comfortable to type and use (slightly felt like around the keys). Easy to install with the magnets. Additionally, it protects the screen.

Purchased this item it was compatible with my microsoft 8 worked perfect. I like the thin sleek keyboard and the backlight on the board as well.

I love this keyboard! The size, color, and functionality is exceptional! I purchased a case for my Surface Pro and this keyboard was small enough and thin enough to fit into it as well, while creating a very natural look at the same time. This is my 3rd Microsoft keyboard. I would recommend this product to anyone with, or considering, purchasing a Surface Pro.

This is a surprising good keyboard for any computing device, made more impressive by the fact that it's super thin, weighs almost nothing, and attaches to a tablet. The tracking on the trackpad is very good, too.

super light weight and perfect for travelling and They have a better keypress feel, and the backing of the keyboard is firmer, so there's less flex while I'm typing on it.

Better than the previous version as the keys stick out slightly further. Makes it easier to type. Extremely thin and good for traveling. A must have with a surface pro.

Absolutely no setup required. Literally held it close to the surface pro and it clicked into place and I was typing immediately. No setup. No worries. Only downer is it does not have a numbers pad.

Great detachable keyboard, must have for any surface pro owner. Only wish it was already part of the purchase and not sold as separate item making overall purchase very expensive.

Any time I get a Surface Pro, either a upgrade or for my husband, I always get the keyboard. I love the color of it, the feel, how easy it is to use, how well it stays connected, how it acts like a protector when folded over the screen, and how responsive and accurate the touch pad is. The last keypad wore fairly easy, so far this one holds up to being used every day a lot. I would recommend for anyone who has a Surface Pro.

I like the keyboard as I'm more for using that then the touch screen for the programs I use on my Surface. Connects well but seems to pick up a lot of dust - which is minor. Also protects the Surface well.

I balked at the price of this, but I couldn't deny the other reviews either. I wasn't overwhelmed with other keyboard choices, and I know I didn't want to rely on the pen or virtual keyboard, so I begrudgingly opted for this one. It's a beautiful keyboard as far as the covering is concerned. They call it "Alcantara" which means nothing to me, but it feels like soft felt. It connects to the Surface seamlessly, and you only have to bring it near and the magnets pull it in and align on their own. It covers the Surface screen perfectly as well. The keyboard is backlit, but only stays on for a few seconds after the last key press. This may be a setting, but I'm fine with is and really seems to have zero effect on the battery. The keys feel fantastic, and I'm a fat handed ham fist typer and this never feels like it's going to break or bend. The trackpad is awesome and it does "click" when you push to execute a left or right mouse button push. The only concern I really have is longevity. The edge of the keyboard where the seam of the covering lies reminds me of the edge of those trapper keepers when I was in school, and that's where the bulk of the damage would occur. I hope that doesn't happen here, not that it's being rough handled.

Love it. I like the Surface Pro lineup as well. The keyboard protects the screen and makes working a heck of a lot easier.

The Surface tablet is easy to use. The cover was easy to attach then start using. it works well. The size fits most places. I highly recommend the cover /keyboard.

Really good keyboard that attaches magnetically. No set up needed, and it really turns the tablet into a laptop. Much prefer this to typing on an e-keyboard.
