It also protects the screen and just makes it easy to use the surface pro in laptop mode. My only "hmmmm" is that the touchpad is too sensitive, often picking up "commands" before I even touch it making it a bit annoying at times. I'm still looking for a way to turn off the touchpad since I prefer to use the blue tooth mouse.

The old one seems to have used a not so tough material - this one feels very sturdy. Love the adjustable keyboard illumination, touchpad really works, so a very happy customer.... a little expensive - but makes my 3 year old surface feel brand new!
