The lighted keys help in low light situations. One major frustration is the material used on the keyboard. The material captures alot of dirt and stains easily. This keyboard is a replacement for a grey one that became very dirty and unacceptable to look at. I though the black wound hide more dirt/oils, but I am constantly cleaning it every two days to prevent any staining. This is a known issue and on many community websites and wish Microsoft would use an alternative material in this keyboard.

Is it enough to justify an extra $60? No, but you can often find it down to around $120 and then the price isn't as hard to swallow. In the end I returned it because I chose the platinum color instead. The burgundy was a little closer to mauve in my eyes.
