The original stoped working and needed a new one can depend on it for a 2-3 year use

We have a couple surface pro's in the family -- this is the second device we have upgraded from the original keyboard to the Alcantara material. Better feel/more durable -- worth a few $ extra. Seems they dont make a black Alcantara -- so you will need to choose a color -- platinum is a medium grey which is fine for us

If you buy a Surface Pro, you gotta get a keyboard to fully utilize the device. This is definitely one of the better laptops I've owned. At first it's seems a bit flimsy due to it's thinness, but it works very well, has a felt like cover that comes in various colors that's surprisingly durable. The feedback from the keys is fantastic and the keyboard is backlit to boot.

Great computer for an "on the go" person; lightweight and compact.

Great feel, responsive keys. I like the fact that once you unhook it there is no need to unpair because of errant key pushes. I do wish that the keyboard cover was magnetized to stay closed on the surface pro.

Surprisingly tactile keyboard with good response. Does not feel cheap. Firmly attaches and detaches from surface pro. The “fabric” has a good feel, and so far has remained clean and is unstained. However, I am an older adult and I use a wrap-around case I bought online.

its very light and i like the cloth surface feel when you type its great!

My first surface pro broke and they replaced it with this one. I would like to say that the employee named Brandon at geek squad was a big help.

Love this keyboard. I would like to have numbers on the side. Other than that its like a regular keyboard.

Fast easy way to attach a full size key board to your surface when you don't want to use the touch screen method of typing.

I would truly enjoy using a keyboard when I'm on my Surface Pro and this one works quite well I have to like the fact that is connects with how to having any nuts and bolts great love I am to have along with the stylus pen

I love the portable power of the Surface Pro, but one of my complaints has always been the flexing and feel of the type cover keyboard. I finally had some extra funds saved up and sprung for this model. It is significantly stiffer and has better key feel. Highly recommended upgrade for those on older models of the type cover keyboard.

Do yourself a favor. Upgrade to the soft, luxurious feeling of Italian Alcantara. Much, much better than previous generations. Looks great when you contrast against the matte black MS Surface Pro. Hasn’t gotten dirty and I highly prefer it over the standard black keyboard since you don’t get all those nasty fingerprints!
