You can certainly use the popup keyboard on the screen but this keyboard doubles as the protective case on the Surface Pro so worth adding to your shopping experience.

I was concerned this transition would be difficult from a desktop keyboard. This is perfect. Comfortable keys and connects to tablet perfectly

But when wanting something light and portable that will protect your display you can't beat this. It takes some getting used to but it works great!

It charges along with the Pro. I chose gray and it looks great. I purchased a film key cover from Amazon that makes it even better.

Protects the screen of computer well during transport/storage. Only thing that doesn't work as well as it could is the mousepad when I go to click--seems like it takes more force than it should to click sometimes, and with it being such a thin keyboard, it feels like I need to be more gentle.

Its great to have a detachable keyboard rather then the 2 in one that are heavy n bulky. Once ypu go Mac you DO go Surface Pro. What i do not like is you can not double tap to drag like the Mac...
