It also protects the screen and just makes it easy to use the surface pro in laptop mode. My only "hmmmm" is that the touchpad is too sensitive, often picking up "commands" before I even touch it making it a bit annoying at times. I'm still looking for a way to turn off the touchpad since I prefer to use the blue tooth mouse.

You can fold it backwards to prop the tablet up on. The keys are luminated underneath when it's dark. I am glad I purchased it, because typing from the screen is not the most comfortable if you have a lot of straight typing.
