Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the Surface Pro Type Cover's high-quality keyboard, ease of use, and lightweight design. Many also enjoy the available color options and the protection it offers the screen. However, some find the price to be a significant drawback, and a few have experienced connection issues. Other less frequent concerns include the lack of a number pad and the impact on battery life.

Great product to compliment my new Microsoft Surface pro 4. Keys are very responsive. Highly recommended.

Using the Surface Pro 4 touchscreen (without a keyboard) can be somewhat of a pain when using very few specific apps, or just maneuvering around the desktop. For example, I can't seem to copy and paste certain text using the touch screen, so I will have to use the keyboard. I love how it's detachable. When I take notes (writing, not typing) on a desk, I will unplug the keyboard and swap it around to avoid scratching the keys, etc. The fabric feel is nice, but I really don't like how the edges are, they stick out like a seem (I guess you can call it something like that... I don't know how to directly describe it). The edges of fabric can feel uncomfortable at times when typing with the laptop on your lap. It can be a little hard (not difficult) sometimes to type on your lap because it does feel flimsy in some areas. Overall, I feel like it's a 4 star product; it does its intended job, but it's very pricy for a keyboard. I understand it's a high tech item for what it does and the device it accompanies, but this isn't worth a $125.99 purchase. Luckily I'm a student and got 10% off, but I would think that this keyboard should be no more than $80 or $90, maybe even $50. However, you really need the keyboard. I advise to get it with your SP4 purchase.

This does exactly what it is supposed to do, i.e. cover the surface pro and is a good keyboard. I purchased the red one as it was for someone else, otherwise would have gone with navy blue or black. They all work great, however...

Adding this to my surface, It has given me the ability to carry everything I need with me, without having to carry a laptop. It’s the best thing for on the go and even at home. the cover not only does it protect my investment, it turns my tablet into a laptop. the only reason for giving it 4 starts its only because its not a very ergonomic key board.

Usually not a fan of smaller keyboards, but this one works quite well. Still not a fan of the non standard Ctrl spacing, but I've gotten used to it. The tactile feel of the keys and the smoothness of the touchpad are top notch.

I bought surface pro 4 and my old pro 3 was given to my Son, he asked me to get him a new keyboard, actually I was so happy when I knew that the new keyboard can work also with pro 3, better design, more functions and also easy in typing.

    Buggy, Disconnects

This is a huge improvement over the previous generation in a number of ways: track pad, stability, key feedback. However it suffers many of the same old flaws, random disconnects and the trackpad just stopped working entirely. It pretty much ruined the surface for me since without a keyboard it's a fancy tablet and not really a work machine (at least for me).

This keyboard is the only way to go with the Surface. It is lightweight and tough and integrates flawlessly with the surface. I spilled liquid on mine recently and it cleaned up like a charm with no functional issues whatsoever.

Whoever created this 2 for 1 keyboard/cover is a genius. It would be nice if it came as a package deal when you buy the tablet. However, with that being said, it is still worth paying for the keyboard and makes world of a difference.

If you have a surface you WILL want a keyboard and even though this one is small and awkward to use it does satisfy the need while providing some protection. However, it is WAY to expensive and should retail for under $50. Most of the time I use my Bluetooth or onscreen keyboard.
