You will end up buying this at some point if you have a surface pro x/8/9. I would wait until it goes on sale or pick up an open box model, which there always seem to be plenty of. The keyboard and trackpad are much improved over the previous surface type covers, and the surface slim pen 2 is among the best digital pens I have used. I think the pen is even better than that of the apple pencil 2. The flat shape of the pen, which feels like a carpenter's pencil in the hand, allows the device to be easily gripped, and your hand is never confused of where it is. Additionally, Microsoft has added haptic feedback to their surface pen this time around, which adds an extra level of immersion when writing on an otherwise texture-less glass screen. The battery life is more than enough for a full day and the charging location at the top of the keyboard is both genius and ensures you will never lose it in a bag.

I put off getting a Surface Pro for many years awaiting a slightly larger screen and finally pulled this plug on the 8. I was concerned I'd have difficulty adapting to a smaller form factor from a 15" especially since I'm a guy with larger hands. All I can say is WOW. I LOVE this keyboard. It is the perfect size, comfortable, durable, well lit and honestly easier because the smaller size has decreased typing stress because less movement to reach the keys compared to my full size laptop (which I haven't touched since I got my Surface Pro 8. Track pad is responsive and the best I've used anywhere. A great feature is the stylus compartment so I always know where they stylus is and it's charged when I need it. If you have any concerns about it, set them aside and feel confident purchasing this. FYI, you can get a Microsoft Protection plan to cover just the keyboard it you want.

Im not always a fan of buying all the extra accessories, however the market has turned into this. The keyboard is a stunning color and detaches easily. It's a sturdy board for typing and I have no complaints.

This is a very good cover. The pen recharges and ive had no problem with the pen accidentally falling out. It is back-lit. The attachment to the surface is strong ie it does not fall off when dangling from surface. It feels and looks very high quality however i cannot comment on its longevity. The notch where the pen is held does create some weirdness when you've got the cover folded back n the surface sitting on top of the cover. But im nit-picking. The main reason i did not give it 5 stars is the same issue i had with my previous type cover: it is not wireless. I wish Microsoft would make these covers bluetooth connectable.

Great keyboard. Not a fan of the color. Lighter than it appears in the picture. Afraid of it aging prematurely. Returned this and replaced with the black keyboard.

Excellent keyboard with pen included. I drove the a further away BestBuy because the website showed an open box item for a good bit less but turned out it wasn't in the store, despite me having two employees searching everywhere. I ended up paying full retail price because the manager wouldn't price match.

Easy to use, but I found after a couple months of using it, the trackpad seems to be a little crooked. I do not use it often, as I usually work from home and have a wireless keyboard for there, so it is a little disappointing. But honestly, what other clip-on keyboard is going to work as well as the one from Microsoft? Probably none.

Exactly what we needed. With our daughter going to college in the fall we wanted to set her up for success. 9 years ago my wife and I purchased this same earlier generation setup for our oldest daughter, she still uses it. This removable keyboard is a great product that built to last.

Looks good and works as expected. This keyboard connects perfectly to my SP9, compared to the off brand keyboard I tried. I can easily fold back when I'm writing. I like that it can hold my pen and charge the pen off laptop power. The pen has yet to skip while writing.

This product is easy to carry around and store away in just about any bag, purse, backpack. It’s slim and light weight! Love the velvet soft feel to the keyboard, plus it’s aesthetically pleasing.

Gorgeous color! Pen is so slick. Small but feels durable. I didn't have the pen on my last pro and it already has made a difference for taking advtange of the programs that are on the new surface.

I picked up my order on November 17, 2024, at the Downey, CA store. The process was smooth and efficient. The staff was helpful and ensured I received my items promptly. The Surface Slim Pen 2 and Pro Signature Keyboard have been fantastic additions to my Surface Pro 9. The pen is incredibly responsive, making it perfect for note-taking and drawing. Makes using the Surface Pro so much easier. I am usually sitting on the couch watching TV and doing volunteer work on it. With it being attached it is just like using a regular laptop and makes for typing much easier.
