This was my third Surface, but the use of another processor (not an Intel) is a failure from Microsoft, it had incompatibilities with certain software and returned it.

As someone who spends plenty of time on creative and productive work, the Pro Keyboard for Surface Pro (11th Edition) with the Surface Slim Pen 2 has transformed my daily routine. I will go into great length on my encounters with both attachments, stressing their general usability, design, and utility. The modern and elegant look of the Surface Slim Pen 2 captures Microsoft's commitment to both design and utility. Its low weight and thin form make handling for long stretches of time pleasant. Its firm grip without slipperiness comes from robust building and a matte, smooth texture. The steady magnetic attachment to the Surface Pro keeps the pen always charged and within reach. The Pro Keyboard for Surface Pro (11th Edition) exudes a certain quality. It is built properly, with a strong frame and fine keys that offer a good typing experience. Especially in darkly light environments, having backlit keys is a useful feature. Strong connection created by the magnetic attachment of the Surface Pro and keyboard transforms the tablet into a totally working laptop. The Surface Slim Pen 2 performs very brilliantly. Because of its low latency and superb accuracy, it is perfect for note-taking, drawing, and Surface Pro navigation. Excellent pressure sensitivity helps one to write and draw rather naturally. The haptic feedback which mimics the sensation of writing on paper with subdued vibrations is one very remarkable aspect. Through bettering the tactile feel generally, this feature makes digital writing more pleasurable and easy. On a range of tasks, the Pro Keyboard performs admisably. The perfect key travel offers a nice and snappy typing experience. Productivity rises with the multi-touch actions enabled by the precise and silky touchpad. Convenient built-in slot in the keyboard of the Surface Slim Pen 2 is a well-considered element that keeps the pen safe and handy. The Surface Slim Pen 2 has rather astonishing simplicity of use. It runs perfectly with many programs, including Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office, and combines naturally with the Surface Pro. The customizable buttons of the pen provide simple access to often used functionalities, hence enhancing its adaptability. Whether I'm annotating papers, navigating presentations, or drawing, the pen always runs smoothly and responsively. The Pro Keyboard increases the general usability of the Surface Pro by making typing on it more comfortable and extending the tablet's functionality. The strong and consistent magnetic attachment helps the keyboard to remain in its correct position throughout use. Thoughtfully arranged, the keyboard features all the required keys right at hand. The Surface Slim Pen 2's battery life is amazing it may last many weeks between charges with regular use. Easy magnetic charging keeps the pen constantly ready to use. The Surface Pro detects the pen straight away and there is no lag or connectivity issue. The Pro Keyboard has no extra battery since it gets power straight from the Surface Pro. This is a major benefit since it implies less frequent charging. Using the consistent connection, I have not experienced any dropouts or connectivity problems. This both accessories are an Excellent add-ons that significantly increase Surface Pro's capability and turns Surface Pro into a more competent and flexible device. Given their deft design and construction, both adapters are great additions to any Surface Pro configuration. Whether one values productivity that of a student, creative worker, or for daily use the Surface Slim Pen 2 and Pro Keyboard are a great acquisition. They not only improve the general usage of the Surface Pro but also enable its full potential.

So, this device works well, however the surface pro 11 is the biggest electronic piece of junk I have ever purchased. Stay clear of the surface pro 11 until compatibility bugs are fixed. And the added warranty from BB is junk too. They held it for four weeks before sending it back to MS. Told me I should buy a cheap laptop in the meantime.

Replaced frequently used right ctrl key with a hotkey to microsoft’s lacking AI. Wish I had noticed from the photos before purchasing.

The keyboard only lasted 4 months before some of its keys stopped working. I wouldn’t have spend basically 300 dollars on something that would break that quickly and I regret buying it.

Could not interface with popular app’s Very disappointing

This Surface Slim Pen and Pro Keyboard combo are a great addition to a killer tablet. They up the level of productivity significantly, offering a great typing experience, very adequate and reliable touchpad, and a nice pen into a well package design. While the new Surface Pro Flex keyboard steals the show because of its wireless capabilities, this setup is a nice alternative for less money. Typing on the Pro Keyboard is a very comfortable and hassle-free experience. The keys have a measured amount of travel, surprisingly so given the incredibly slim nature of it. Typing long passages isn't an issue (I'm typing this review on it currently). It's also backlit, and the palm rest is comfortably textured, providing an overall great experience that is certainly not a given for this form factor. Similarly, the touchpad is definitely solid. It's not very large, which is really the only knock I have against it. This is also in contract to the Flex, which utilizes the real estate at hand a bit more effectively. Other than the size, functionality is absolutely everything you'd expect from a Windows trackpad in 2024; responsive, with adequate tactile feedback and great gesture support. The Slim Pen, the other half of this combo, is also a great performer. Arguably the best part about this product is how they've designed the keyboard to stow the pen away. I frankly love the design of this; magnets on either side that allow the keyboard to "snap" into a higher stance, completely hiding the pen away. The pen, though, is regardless a worthy accessory. Responsiveness on the screen is great (up there with the best devices I've used), which lends itself to feeling pretty close to legitimately writing on a physical medium. The two buttons are effective; the side button allowing for right "clicks", and the top button serving dual functions allowing you to launch an app with a press or erase contents with a swipe on the screen. Tracking is slightly jerky at times, but overall, this finally feels like a cohesive pen experience out of a Surface device. Honestly, the price is a bit steep. However, if you can get past that, this is a near-essential accessory combo for your new Surface laptop. The decision of whether to get the Pro or Pro Flex combo comes down to your need for a truly wireless keyboard. For me, it's more of a nice to have. The overall design and usability of the Pro Keyboard and Slim Pen make them a great option.

If you need a lightweight keyboard to accompany you're new Surface Pro 11 tablet this is the near perfect slim companion. The Surface Pro Keyboard snaps onto the bottom of the Surface via magnets, just like previous versions. The pen holder keeps the pen very secure and takes deliberate effort to remove it so you don't have to worry about accidentally losing the pen while it's housed on the keyboard. Typing feels decent on the keyboard, but I've been spoiled by low profile mechanical keyboards. While it's good for a portable laptop, don't expect mechanical performance. The keys need more force than my main KB but not so much to wear out my fingers too much more than my mechanical does. The touchpad, while it works great, is a bit short on the hight so scrolling takes more trips up and down than I'd like but the scrolling is smoother and faster than using touch scroll in Firefox. Pinch zooming works fine also. You can customize the 3 and 4 finger gestures and taps in Windows settings. I remember when Synaptic drivers were what you needed to get to personalize your touchpads. I'm glad MS has surpassed the 3rd party vendors' drivers options. My biggest issue is that when the part that folds up to secure the table to the display engages, it partially covers the app icons. You can't see the lines to see if an app is open or not if you have pinned apps. This is because too many people like form over function and think "eww, bezels." They were there for a reason. I'll probably end up replacing this with a third party keyboard with a heavier base like I did with my other Surfaces. It's not a bad KB, I just like having one that doesn't require the use of the kickstand.

The keyboard stopped working 30 days after purchase

This keyboard and pen work very well. It was super simple to connect this keyboard to the surface tablet. The has a velvety back and texture area around the track pad. The keys have a rubber feel to them. There is a key that turns the back lights on and off. There is a key to activate the copilot + feature. There is an area that holds the pen, and charges it at the same time. The pen is a thin, lightweight plastic. I like the double tap feature to open favorite apps. The pen writes pretty good on the tablet surface. It is very responsive. The area on sides of track pad are magnetic, pen can be placed in this area and will not slide off. When using paint, pen works well drawing. It is easy to draw and paint with pen using this app. I like being able to use a find my feature to locate my pen. The tracking feature is great. I will be using this keyboard and pen with my table to write notes on meetings. Having a place to hold the pen when not in use is great. When the tablet and keyboard are on a laptop position, the pen tray is not visible. This is a cool feature that will work well for security when the keyboard is not being used. I am very happy with this keyboard and pen.

The Microsoft Pro Keyboard might just be the best tablet keyboard in the market. It turns the Surface Pro into a productivity laptop and I love that it can be used wirelessly. The keyboard is full-sized, offering the classic Surface look and feel. It also includes a built-in storage and charging tray for Surface Slim Pen. The overall build quality is excellent and it provides a great typing experience. The Surface Slim Pen 2 Second Edition is comfortable to hold and adds excellent note-taking, doodling and drawing capabilities. The new design is appreciated and works great even with older Surface devices. The pen is ultra-responsive and precise, and the low-latency makes if feel natural to write with making it perfect for creatives and professionals alike. The ergonomic feel and seamless integration with Surface devices elevate productivity and creativity to new heights. If I have any complaints, it’s that the bundle is a bit costly, but I wouldn’t think of owning a Surface Pro without it.

The Microsoft Surface Pro Keyboard with Slim Pen includes a place to store and charge the pen which some other options might not offer. As I use it now in a recliner, I'm finding it comfortable to use whether I have the keyboard in the front or folded around the back with the stand open on top of it. It was even better when used on a desktop (with the Surface Pro connected to two external displays). The magnetics hold the keyboard very well and also hold the pen firmly. Like any new keyboard, it might initially take a little getting used to -- it took me about 5 minutes. The keyboard does not appear to be backlit, which I know some other model(s) offered. The caps lock and function keys do have lights which illuminate when they are active. When the keyboard cover is closed, there is a soft cover on the outside which has a cloth book-like feel. Speaking of the feel, the surface where you rest your wrists to type also is made of some kind of materially textured surface which prevents slippage. The copilot key is a great addition, and I already am a subscriber to Copilot Pro so I intend to use this button. As per the Pen, it works mostly the way you would expect (with some surprises), I had better hand-writing with it than I typically have with other pens on other devices (such as S-Pen or Pencil Pro). It features a button for right clicking, an eraser, and for example I noticed if I double clicked the eraser OneNote opened (a single eraser click in OneNote made a pop up Quick note window open). I did some doodling with MS Paint (had fun with Cocreator). Photoshop did not seem to work as well with the Slim Pen (for example, if I tried the gradient tool, it would partially make the gradient, but drag the canvas at the same time), but that's more of a Photoshop bug and I'm not reviewing that. There was a period where, after rebooting, the keyboard and trackpad were not functioning, but detaching and reattaching the keyboard corrected that (it was either loose or needed the equivalent of a 'reboot'). This is a necessary accessory pair for the Surface Pro. I'm using it with the Surface Pro 11 and it works flawlessly. This is my first time using a Surface Pro keyboard and it was immediately clear that this is a great keyboard. Even though it is impossibly thin, it is better than most laptop keyboards. The key travel feels great for any keyboard, much less on that is this thin. The keys are separated with enough space that the targets are easy to hit. I like the trackpad too, it might be the best trackpad I've ever used on a Windows device. It is large for the space it occupies and I've had no issues with it. Scrolling and gestures are fluid and have not missed. Tap to click is perfect, and actually clicks are solid and satisfying. I love that the pen stows away in the keyboard for storage. This is essential so that you don't have to carry the pen separately, and you will always know where it is. The pen has been great to use, of course it excels in drawing and I've had a lot of fun using it in Paint along with the Copilot+ features. I like that there is a pen launch menu and that the pointer is visible as a dot on the screen when the pen gets close. I also like the erase feature with the end of the pen and that you can even change what happens with the erase end or the function button on the side of the pen. The pen is great to hold too, the shape is perfect and natural. There is a dedicated CoPilot key on the keyboard, which I wasn't crazy about at first. However, now that I've used it for a bit I am a fan. It is nice to have a button to launch an application that I've come to use quite a bit. This is the perfect accessory pair for the Surface Pro, but I also think it should be included with the device and not a separate purchase.

I recently got the Surface Slim Pen and Pro Signature Keyboard accessory bundle to complement my new Surface Pro Copilot+ PC, and I must admit, I’m thoroughly impressed! As I type this review on the keyboard, I appreciate its quick snap-on design. It effortlessly attaches to the Surface Pro without any fuss, and the connection feels sturdy. The pen, too, seamlessly integrates with the Surface Pro. Upon picking it up from its slot, the Surface Pro immediately recognized it and provided an on-screen pop-up overview of its capabilities. Using the pen is a delight as well. There is no noticeable lag, and its sleek, slim design ensures comfortable use. While the flat form factor took a bit of adjustment for me, it still feels like writing with a real pen. The built-in touchpad is equally responsive, and the material covering exudes a luxurious feel. I like that both the keyboard and pen draw power from the Surface Pro’s battery, this eliminates the need for separate charging, meaning less chargers to carry. The keyboard also doubles up as a protection cover for the Surface Pro's screen and the slim design makes it easy to slip the device into a sleeve. The dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard is also a plus. I have been using Copilot for work so this welcome addition provides a seamless access to its features and capabilities. I am also fond of using the snipping tool so having a separate key for this tool is a stroke of genius. Truly, convenience and efficiency are what's being offered by this keyboard bundle. With this keyboard, my Surface Pro Copilot+ PC transforms into a powerful laptop, making it the perfect companion for productivity on the go. So, whether I’m typing up reports or writing notes, this bundle has me covered!

One of the best things about a Microsoft's Surface Pro series has been it's simplicity when it comes to what you get. Sure, you can spec out the internals and this year choose between a beautiful OLED or an LED, but mostly, it was cut and dry with what you had to choose from. Then they introduced the different keyboards, which has added another layer of confusion for many. One of the biggest reasons it's confusing is because a new feature of using the keyboard without being attached was introduced. Many believed that to be a feature from the Surface Pro itself, and not the keyboard. Therefore, being able to utilize the new feature with any keyboard. Sadly, that's not true. For a user to be able to use that feature, they have to purchase a "Pro Flex Keyboard" which retails for $449! The keyboard you get here is packaged with the own and costs $280. I'm still confused as to what the different features are between the two. This keyboard is decent enough, however. It works well as a keyboard and is able to be wrapped around the back when using the Pro as a tablet. It's minimal and easy to type on. The keys click well and I've been able to type up several pages without discomfort. Microsoft does do a quality with their hardware. And it shows here. I just wish they'd have their options more streamlined. There doesn't need to be more than one keyboard. And the pricing doesn't have to reflect Apple pricing to stay competitive. That's where they can take a lot of the market, by lowering the pricing and really eating into the Apple line.

I would say that the beauty of a Surface Pro is that the Windows on-screen keyboard is really nice, so in many cases I have no issue using it. But for anyone who has used Windows in the past (who hasn’t?) we know that a physical keyboard is needed at some point. Having a tablet PC makes me want as sleek and as effiicient physical keyboard as possible. The Surface Pro Keyboard for Surface Pro 11 is probably the top of that list. The keyboard is largely the same design as the previous generation, and that’s not a bad thing. Plus it adds a couple of refinements that do make it an improvement, but I would say they are minor at best. One is the capacitive touch trackpad. If you have ever used one of these on a laptop before, it ruins you for using mechanical click trackpads. One reason is that most Windows laptops use a “diving board” style trackpad, so they aren’t truly clickable all over. The capactive touch trackpad makes it clickable all over. It’s small, but makes a difference. The other thing I noticed with this keyboard, and it may be in my head, the keys feel different to me. They have more travel, or click different, in a way that makes them feel like more of a full laptop experience. The previous keyboard was fine, this feels like more. I got the Dune color to match my Surface Pro and it’s a nice color. It’s different from your typical colors, but very nice looking. The Surface Pen I have is pretty much the same pen as last year, and again, not a bad thing. I think it’s more enhanced by how Windows 11 is evolving. I have preferred this pen style over others for a while and love that I have it here. So why do I give this 4 stars. I think because it’s the same for the most part. If you were to upgrade to a Surface Pro 11 from a 10, you could use your keyboard accessory from the 10 for the 11 and not really miss anything. And you would saving money. So for that I will say this is not perfect, but it’s solid.

Keyboard, for me, is a tad loud and flexes a bit if not used “flat”. It does attach solidly to tablet using magnets. Touchpad is nice size and responsive but left/right clicks again are loud if not use “flat” Has a built-in Copilot key as well as key for 3 levels of backlighting and a dedicated snip key. Pen It is held securely in place in its keyboard tray by magnet(s). So much so it is a tad hard to get out. It is neatly hidden if keyboard attached “up”. Works well with nice sensitivity. There are additional settings such as which hand you use, set speed, etc. Top works as a shortcut button. If left click the pen icon you have access to OneNote, whiteboard, snip tool and journal as well as settings. As far as I can tell the pen is charged when in tray and keyboard attached to unit. It also has an optional pen charger that is not included in this package. To check pen battery level Select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices. These are nice as you don’t have to pack or keep track of separate accessories. They all fit together as one item/unit. Overall, these are built by MS for MS products, so they work and fit well. They do what you need them to do but are a tad pricey and recommend if you have one of the compatible devices.

The Surface Pro keyboard, a versatile companion for Surface Pro owners, has been a revelation in my week-long experience. Its adaptability to various tasks and situations has impressed me. The Surface Pro keyboard, with its responsive trackpad, comfortable Pen to hold, and customizable button, is the perfect companion for the Surface Pro. Over the course of the week, I used it mainly for browsing the web, creating Word documents in Google Docs, and drawing with the Paint app. My only complaint about the keyboard is that the keys do feel cramped. The first day, it led to multiple typing errors. More spacing between the keys would be nice. The writing and drawing experience with the pen was fantastic. I did not experience any noticeable latency input. My only complaint is the haptic feedback. It could use some improvement. Overall, the Surface Keyboard is a good one. However, for the price it retails, I wish it came with backlit keys. After using it for a couple of days, the typing experience is solid. The touchpad is responsive. If you prefer a haptic touchpad the Flex keyboard has one. It’s not my favorite keyboard, but it’s still good enough to get work done while you’re traveling.
