This is necessary for the Surface 2, but it is not great. For my average sized hands, this keyboard feels too small. I do like the back-lit keys.

Bought this with my Surface that had Windows 8. When I upgraded to 8.1 it stop working. As long as you don't upgrade it will work fine.

Item is too pricey for what It does. I think that there needs to more value for just a keyboard.

It.is very nice keyboard when it works how ever it is so easy to brake it. That is the down side I'm on my second one .

Have to touch and touch and touch until can finally get it to right click

Every time , I click on left or right mouse tab. It does not register, I have to tab hard for it to work

Material used to make covering is not very durable. Apart from that, it does its job.

Was bought as a gift for someone else so don't know much about it

For 140 dollars you get a small keyboard works like a keyboard.

It was a good buy for the 1st week then a couple of keys wouldn't work at all. Other keys would work when they wanted. Got a second one on sale and that lasted a little long after a month some keys wouldn't work.

one problem was working the mouse otherwise great product

It was easy to use. However, I needed to charge daily even though I used it for less than 4 hours a day and it took 3 hours to charge. Also the screen would go black and I had to take it in when I had just bought it.

My wife got this as a gift and she loves it. The best thing is it allows her to have a tablet and a laptop whenever she wants one or the other. My wallet doesn't like this item at all :-)

I don't know if you realize how many problems can be caused when your ALT key sticks, but let me tell you it can cause panic. Also I'm always hitting the tiny little pretend touchpad (you can turn this off which I eventually did).

I like that it has a backlight that lights up when in a darker setting. One of the set backs is the letter R that popped off. It makes it difficult to type.

I hoped to use my Surface on my lap with this keyboard but it becomes unattached when not seated properly as on a desk. I returned it and got a Logitech BT keyboard.

It was for use with the Surface tablet but was pointless because I returned the Surface. Very expensive keypad. I was gifted an iPad and didn't need the Surface anymore.

The keyboard would not work, I couldn't figure out if I was missing something, fooled with it two days, showed it to several techie friends, finally drove 50 miles to a Microsoft store. They told me it didn't work, sold me another at full price (I had bought the first one online), now I have store credit at a place that I never go. Now it works, but I so dislike Windows 8 that the keyboard does not make the Surface Tablet attractive to use. Back to the laptop for me.

It's easy to attach but I wish the buttons were bigger and mouse was better and faster

The space bar did not work on this product. I had to return it.
