I love how it just clicks in. If you are totally OCD about your keyboard, this thing is not for you unless you want to wipe it often. I've found that it shows everywhere my fingers have touched it, and that's after only a few weeks. It doesn't work too well if you type with it in your lap, it's best if you use it on a firm surface. Overall. great add on for the Surface!

Overall, nice and easy keyboard to use. I like the way it connects to the tablet and folds up to protect the screen overall. Initially, the keys were very difficult to use - hard. Had to often hit the keys several times when typing something to get the letters to type Now it is much better.

Great keyboard. I prefer this one over the touch pads because I can hear and sense the buttons actually going down. The track pad is a whole button. Love the fact that it unclips very easily. Sometimes (10% of the time) It will get stuck and you just have to unclip it and clip it back on the surface to get it working again. Nothing big.

The on screen keyboard is nice but if you have a lot of typing to do, say while typing a long e-mail or document you will need this keyboard. The other keyboard that they are currently giving away and that comes in several colors is alright but there is no "feel" to it. This keyboard on the other hand is excellent. There is a real feel to the typing, much more so that the other one. The Keys are raised and have a click "feel" when you are typing. There is no number pad and for me that's a little bit of a bummer since I use the number pad all the time but I got used to it pretty quickly. It has a track pad with right and left buttons that comes in very handy at times when you are in the desk top and need to right click something. You don't need to figure out how to do it. Unfortunately though I haven't found a way to disable it so my big paws cause the pointer to move when I least expect it. ;) It doesn't require you to charge it up like other keyboards and Bluetooth keyboards. It also stays connected very well. You can believe the commercials on this one. You can really pick up the whole surface and wiggle it around without the keyboard pulling free. The back is covered with a soft felt like covering so it won't scratch surfaces and won't slide around on you.

This hard keyboard for the surface is great but the mousepad is a little difficult. Ia have read other review stating the same. The mouse pad is simply too small and the integrated the left and right mouse buttons into the same surface. Often time you thin that is actual part of the surface for the pad. This decreases the area of movement allowed.

Great keyboard for the Surface tablet. Easily connects/ disconnects to allow you the freedom of having it, or not. Works great and is easy to type on. The only downfall is that it's more compressed so it's easy to hit the wrong key. Also, the touch pad is very sensitive. Once you get used to it, though, it works great!

I choose the black keyboard for my Surface Pro because liked neither the colors of the feel of the thinner keyboard offered. The keyboard is tactile and I have good feedback that I am hitting the correct keys when typing. It snaps magnetically onto the tablet portion of the Surface nicely, and also serves as a cover.

This is a great keyboard and attaches easily and is easy to use....however, my husband finds that he prefers the ease of just using the keyboard on the Surface itself. However, if you are doing a lot of writing and prefer the feel and use of a regular keyboard this is the one--not the Touch one that is also offered.

This is a must have for a surface pro. The tactile keys are great and responsive and it feels very sturdy. It would be nice to have separate function keys as I use them a lot and it does seem like they have room to squeeze them in. The right click on the trackpad is also a little tricky but it is a touchscreen device so it's not a huge deal.

Love the keyboard. Was concerned it might make the Surface Pro feel too thick but it doesn't. It's very small. I can type about 90 words per minute on regular keyboard, but am consistently hitting 75 words per minute on this one. Didn't like the cloth-like backing at first, but after using it for a month it's fine.

I bought this to accompany my new Surface. I enjoy the feel of its key strokes and it's similar but a little smaller than the notebook keyboard that I type on every business and weekend day. I like that it's directly connected to the Surface, without the energy drain of a Bluetooth adapter running. I'm all good.

    Surface Pro Type Cover

If you're looking for a cover for your surface, getting the type cover is worth the extra ten dollars. You won't feel the extra thickness, of the extra weight and you'll get the feel of a real keyboard that you won't get with the touch cover. This is the cover to get, just wish it came in different colors and there wasn't felt on the cover.

Keyboard is a little pricey - but worth it. Keyboard Keys have a great tactile response and work very well. Incorporating the Magnetic Connector was a very smart idea. The magnetic electrical connector is so easy to connect and disconnect it's remarkable. The felt backing of the keyboard another great idea.

It is pretty functional for a business traveler or just some one who wants the convenience of a keyboard with the microsoft Surface. I for one bought the MS Surface Pro only because it is portable, packs in good hardware and serves all my business need. Portability during travel was a must and I am satisfied with the type cover.

This is the perfect addition to the Surface. Its magnetic clip fits perfectly and securely to the Surface. Keypad touch is firm. I like it better than our laptop. It has a solid feel which weighs a bit more than the soft touch pad but is very much worth it. It responds well to touch. A solid choice even if its a bit pricey.
