I can imagine having a Surface without the keyboard.

Had no problem at all with these keyboards when purchased. Enjoyable typing and great trackpad -- BUT... The Surface Pro 4 Keyboard is out now and better in EVERY way. Can't recommend this keyboard any longer, go get the Surface Pro 4 keyboard instead.

Having the detachable keyboard for the Surface Pro 3 is great. I do find it frustrating when typing a paper. The pointer will unexpectedly jump to a previous point in the document and cause text to be deleted or have text in the wrong place.

The keyboard is smooth and I find my fingers slipping across the keys. Keyboard feels a little flimsy. Backlit keys are nice and typing is responsive. Mousepad is okay. Overall it's good but I'm not a fan of the felt around the edges.

Screen, stylus and touchpad are too sensitive. Just get close with my finger or stylus, and the screen jumps to a new screen or program. Good clarity on the screen. Maybe it's just a longer learning curve than I thought I would have.

The sp3 keyboard is fine. However, the surface pro 3 works with the new surface pro 4 keyboard, and they were (last I checked) the same price. The sp4 keyboard is spaced better, has more options.

Returned item after finding product that more fit my needs from another vendor for half the price and much larger and functional keyboard

I have only had the keyboard for a month and it's hard to left click!

When you purchase this item, make sure it works properly. The mouse pad didn't recognize that something was touching it and the lights on the keyboard hardly worked

I will say that this is a must have for your surface 3. The response from the original is a lot better. Its a shame that this doesn't come bundled with the surface though

The keyboard is pretty cool/necessary addition. It was given 3 stars secondary to the price of the keyboard and the dirty look it has after being used for a while.

I like how the keyboard is connected to the tablet however, sometimes the keys tend to stick allowing for typos. Do not like the fabric finish on the keyboard.

This key board is perfect for on the go typing, but you have to be careful to make sure that you don't damage it. It is somewhat fragile.

This was a gift for someone with a new Surface Pro. It did work OK, but the user didn't prefer the experience on a tablet.

This keyboard is pretty nice and I like it much better than the "touch" keyboard. However, after a while my Surface wouldn't recognize it as being connected. For a while I could repeatedly unattach and reattach it and eventually it would recognize it. Eventually I couldn't get it to recognize it at all. I'm continually unimpressed with Microsoft hardware.

thought it would be needed for the surface, turns out all i use it for is a back prop. works great as a stand, not much else.

The one I got was broken, I had it replaced and it broke the next day. The tablet is great, the keyboard not so much.

Connects easily with magnets but it doesn't always get connected to the surface
