The only reason I give the keyboard 4 stars is that I think it's overpriced. But, I still took the plunge and it works very well - and there is something satisfying about the way it clicks into the Surface itself. I will say this, it's better than any keyboard cover I have seen for the iPad or the Galaxy Note series.

Pros: The magnetic snap to the Surface Pro 3 is quick and easy to install and remove. The overall feel of the keyboard and size works well for me (I have average size hands). The track pad is useful, and responsive. Cons: It does not have a real dedicated spot for the pen. Something more firm than the current offering.

For obvious cost reasons they did not bundle this with the tablet but its a must have. The reason you are even considering the SP3 is because you want a portable computer. WIthout this you will not achieve that. Its great, im used to nice apple trackpads so I the trackpad on this does leave something to be desired.

Overall, the keyboard works really well with the Surface table. The only issue I've been experiencing is that I accidentally enlarge the page I'm looking at all the time. It isn't a deal breaker, but annoying at times.

Well, the only negative thing I can say about the keyboard is that it should not be a peripheral; it should be included stock with the "tablet". I mean, Microsoft advertises the Surface Pro 3 as a desktop and Laptop replacement, then makes you pay extra for the one component that makes it fill that role. Now that I've got that off my chest, I will say that the keyboard is solid, and works like a champ. Rarely does it fail, and disconnecting, and reconnecting from the tablet fixes it when it does -- this occurs so infrequently that the keyboard does not lose a star. It would be nice to have a version that includes a second battery, but again: I can't knock a star for that; it's just something I'd like to see offered.

The Surface 3 is my first Surface tablet, so I can't compare this keyboard to prior versions, but overall I'm quite impressed. The keys are responsive, much more than I figured they would be on such a small design. I had no issues with typing on it. The backlighting is a huge plus as well, very impressed they included it in, again, something so small. I've found the trackpad to be quite good as well and gesture controls seem to work fairly well. The only negative to me is the way the stylus is attached, it's basically just a sticker you put on back of the unit with a loop - it's kind of cheesy for such a premium device - but it works, it holds the stylus in place, so it gets the job done. Also to be clear, and it's not from the pictures, there is not a stylus included. Overall if you're getting a Surface 3, this is something that really should be included with the unit - it's that important. There are some very nice features included and I'm OK with the price. It's not a great price, but I didn't feel ripped off - mainly because of the backlighting and the overall quality.

Could not believe how instant and easily the keyboard attached to the Surface Pro 3. Very easy to use. Prefer typing on it over my laptop any day. The back lit keys are such a plus!

The item worked just fine, but the price was a bit expensive. Be careful with the type cover, as they get dirty easily, especially the colors other than black. It does help you get the most out of your Surface though.

This type cover for the Surface Pro 3 is easy to attach to the Surface. It even comes with a pen holder. I like that it can be put on an angle to make typing easier.

The surface pro 3 does not come with a keyboard so I had to buy one. this is the recommended keyboard. easily detaches and has a clean look with a relaxing feel.

Very handy to have around. Super fast to install or remove. Makes the mouse easy to locate on small icons. no complaints, just happy with it. Had about 6 to 8 months.

Easy to type on; accuracy with this keyboard is great. It's lightweight and very easy to type with.

I received my surface pro 3 without the keyboard. I love the keyboard it makes everything easier. I especially like that everything is magnetic.

The keyboard has a little flex and bounce to it when typing but I have gotten used to it. The keys press softly with good feedback. The mouse pad function is also easy to get used to,

It works great and is a great addition to the Surface Pro 3 for thoise times when you want to crank out a document, fill out a form or whatever.

The type cover has fantastic key response and the trackpad works well. My only concern is the fact the backlit function no longer works. I sent my first keyboard in and received another (Microsoft has fantastic customer service) and the same thing happened with that one. Hoping the keyboards for the surface pro 4 no longer have that problem because they are compatible with the surface pro 3. I would highly recommend if getting the surface pro 3, buy the type cover for the 4 instead of this one.

While blue is my favorite color and the type cover is much better than expected, especially with the backlit functionality, some people might still find it to be a little too flimsy. I think it's actually fine, for use on the go, but the thing that I found to be a little difficult is the felt material. It attracts dust like crazy and would almost prefer a non-slip type material, rather than the felt. Overall, considering what was offered on the 1st generation of the surface, I truly love the improvements that Microsoft made with the type cover, as well as options of different colors. It's fantastic.

This keyboard is the best option for the Surface right now since it is also a cover. It is small but has a decent feel, not too much travel on the keys.

The type cover is a great solution to the ultimate mobile PC in the Surface Pro 3. It's not the best keyboard you've ever typed on in terms of key feel, but after a short time getting used to it, it is comfortable, easy to use, and accurate. It is extremely light, and is the must-have accessory to the SP3

I have big hands so I was worried about how well the keyboard would work for me. I was pleasantly surprised with it.
