I was somewhat leery about buying the Microsoft Type Cover for the Surface Pro 3 I purchased. I liked the colors it came in, but not that the keys are larger than those on a standard keyboard and the print type is white. But when the keyboard is turned on the keys really stand out, and I quickly adjusted to typing on it.

I bought the Surface Pro 3 type cover because it's kind of a necessary component of the device itself, despite being sold separately. I was not pleased with the 130-buck price tag, but I didn't have much of a choice. It's a decent keyboard/cover though, the keys feel nice to type on (once you get used to it) and it's much better than using the on-screen keyboard on the device. There is an included stylus holder you attach via adhesive to the cover wherever you want (although I'm sure most people put it on the top side). The trackpad is okay, but I use a wireless USB mouse because trackpads annoy me in general. The cover doesn't get too dirty if you're careful enough, and I don't have any scratches or stains yet after owning it for a couple months now. Overall a nice product - just wish it was included with the Surface Pro 3 or that it wasn't so expensive. It'd be nice if it came in more colors too.

Thank goodness this thing was a lighted keyboard. My fat fingers couldn't deal with the touch screen much longer. This is a perfect addition to the surface pro. One would think after spending $$$$ on a surface pro, at the minimum it would come with a freaking keyboard. Oye. Microsoft, you got us over the barrel once again.

My husband is using this keyboard with his Surface, and he is really hard on it. He types by literally pounding on the keyboard, so much so that you can hear him typing in the next room. So far, the keyboard has held up to his poundings, and he uses it every day. A very nice (indispensable) accessory for the Surface.

I love this keyboard. There is a backlighting for the keys (which you can adjust the brightness for) which comes in handy when it is dark. The keys are not loud which I also appreciate because I hate being that annoying person in a coffee shop with a loud keyboard. I just wish it was a little lighter on the wallet.

The Surface Pro 3 is the best device offering for 2014. But unfortunately without this keyboard it you may not be very productive. This is the best keyboard that is this thin that I have used. The trackpad and keyboard combination work better than the Yoga Pro 2 keyboard. This is a go even though it is an accessory.

It's completely doable to buy a third party mouse and keyboard for $130 or less. Regardless, this gives that combo as an integrated system without the need for flaky Bluetooth or using your only USB port for a receiver. Additionally, it's going to protect your screen and give you a place to store your OneNote pen.

If you are getting a Surface you have to get a type cover. With new positioning and backlighting this makes the surface one of the most versatile tablets.computers on the market. The on screen keyboard is great for most things but, if you are a student such as myself, then you definitely need the type cover.

I knew I wanted a keyboard when I got my Surface Pro 3. I wasn't happy about the price, but I am pleased with the device. I have already spilled a surgary drink on it and it cleaned up easy with a q-tip and alcohol. If you buy a Surface Pro 3 and would like the external keyboard, do not hesitate to pick it up!

This keyboard works great with Microsoft Surface Pro 3. It's very nice. However, if you don't want to spend the money, you can always connect to Microsoft Surface Pro 3 using any wireless keyboard or bluetooth keyboard because the surface pro 3 works just like a regular laptop but also can function as a tablet.

The Surface Pro 3 (as earlier generations) is marketed as a hybrid laptop and tablet, with a great emphasis on how it is a powerful tool for work and as a replacement for a typical laptop. That said, the keyboard is essential, and should be packaged with and included in the cost of the Surface Pro 3, not as an extra, costly, accessory. That said, the Type Cover performs well, has good tactile feel, and adds to the portability and convenience of the Surface Pro 3 as a work device, as well as a play device. The backlighting on the keyboard is a nice feature.
