OEM product is expensive, but functional, no competition to chose from, so you are stuck with it.

I know it is strange for the What's Great and What's Not So Great to be the same but it is true. The trackpad is a huge improvement over the one that was on the original Surface Keyboards. It is actually usable and you can actually click with it. The magnetic strip works well to stabilize the keyboard when using it on your lap. Backlight works well. But... It is still missing something. I still mis-click left and right with the pad. This can be frustrating. Personally I still prefer trackpoints but can understand why this type of keyboard does not have one. The pen holder is useless and feels like an after thought. I just clip the pen to the crease in the keyboard when closed. Doesn't get in the way. Overall it's a great improvement but still could use some improvements.

I bought my Surface Pro 3 for work and knew that I wanted to use it like a laptop, so there was not a question on whether to buy this type cover. The keyboard size is usable, not too small like with netbooks. The touch pad is useful and I'm glad it is there even though I primarily use the stylus. I wish the "black" was actually black and not grey.

Light weigh, Works great but it seems a little flimsy. Time will tell how durable the design is.
