Feels just a computer keyboard, but it's lighter and cleaner. Very easy to clean. Lights up when attached. Hard enough that it will not break if falls on the floor.

I ordered this product just 30 minutes before store closing. When I got there the product is already ready for pick-up.

Its a good keyboard. I wouldn't want to write a 10 page essay on it but its good for day to day use and works nicely as a cover.

Good keyboard for transition from laptop

Overall I like the backlighting feature of the keyboard the best. If you worked with a laptop and used many of the shortcut keys in Word in conjunction with the Insert key as I did, it will take getting used to this change. There may be work-arounds that I haven’t discovered yet though. Also, it took time to adjust to the sensitivity of the keyboard—sometimes as I was typing, the pointer would jump to another area and when typing fast and not looking at what I was typing, I ended up with gobbledegook!

It lights up when you type, snaps to the Surface in a snap. The cover does get dirty easily, and costs too much, but I love irt

The type cover has decent key travel for how this it is. Although I am not a fan of the loop they include for the stylus. The trackpad is mediocre but nice that they included it rather than just scrapping it.

Works well with the surface. Really like the back-light keyboard. The touch pad can be a little tough to use if you are not sitting the computer in a flat surface (i.e. a bed). Overall works exactly as expected.

The bottom line is you need to have a keyboard for the surface so why not get this one. It works great, stores well and stays in place with magnets and has nice key response. My only two complaints is there is no great place on it to store the Surface Pen and the fabric cover tends to get dirty over time. There may be a good way to clean it, but I have yet to find it. otherwise great buy, a must. Save a little money and see if Best Buy has an open box in on of it's colors.

A surface is not a great laptop or great tablet. It is functional and if you buy a surface, you will need this keyboard. Just think hard before buying a surface.

Although very fond of my iPad Air 2, the need for an attached keyboard met my requirements with the Surface. Power / Performance / other Features being comparable~

While it's great that the pro has a keyboard, it's still kind of tough to use until you get used to it. Four stars instead of five, only because they still haven't come out with one that has a ten-key on the side.

    Passable

The previous type covers for the older Surface models were bad. This one is not bad, but it's not good yet. Just passable. It's great typing at night. The F1 and F2 keys control the back light. I like the touch of the keys. They are a little clicky and I find it's too loud to type in bed with a sleeping spouse. It has nice audio controls on it, but it took me a week to figure out why there were no keys to adjust the volume on the keyboard (duh, the volume buttons are on the side of the Surface!). My big gripe is the trackpad. When I type, my wrist often bumps the trackpad, clicking the mouse in some random location. It's very disruptive. I also struggle more than many trackpads to click and drag. I was also confused about where the pen loop went on the floor models. It's a user applied stick-on that the guys as Best Buy missed on the floor models. If you don't look closely in the box, it's easy to miss. I worry it might peel off someday, but a month later seems ok. Overall, it does the job without being too annoying. If used the Surface in laptop mode more I would likely disable the trackpad and just use an external mouse.

The Surface pro 3 type cover is a major improvement over the type cover 2. The new magnetic propping angle works like a charm when propping up the keyboard. The new typing angle is comfortable and secure. I like how the keyboard is bigger than the type cover 2. The keyboard also feels great laying it flat on a surface. After a few hours of typing you get accustomed to it and you should be able to reach your regular typing speed. Overall a better experience than the Type Cover 2 which I also liked.

This thing is handy, it's a cover that's always on. I would consider a dongle keyboard for extended periods of typing though as its not ergonomically friendly.

I bought the keyboard for the Surface Pro 3 because I use it for work and home. I must say if I only used the SP3 as a tablet I would not have spent the extra money for the keyboard. I have found that I only use it when I am doing office work and not for personal use like playing games or exploring the web. So think about what you are using the SP3 for before buying the keyboard, you might not need it.
