Why, Microsoft? Why??
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I made the quick and ultimately bad decision of upgrading to 8.1 when I had a new hard drive installed in my laptop. I wish I had stuck with 7. Windows 8 is outlandish in its colors and insane in its organization. Microsoft thinks that everyone who uses a computer blows countless dollars on apps and needs to see every single thing that they are involved in on the same screen at the same time. This system seems geared more towards children who like pretty things and playlists, than towards normal people who use a computer for more than just Facebook and iTunes. Many of the programs that I like aren't compatible...and some websites I'm involved with aren't, either. And don't even get me started on how long it took us to teach my father how to navigate it! I have been a Windows user since Win95...but I may just defect if this is the future of their offerings. And if you're wondering why I gave an excellent on ease of installation...it's because Geek Squad did it for free.

Good but take some getting used to
