Not quite as good as Windows 7, I feel, but hopefully the free upgrade to 10 will be worth it.

Needed it before 10 came out to convert MAC to pc. Worked great and windows 10 upgrade was easy

Easy to install and customize. Fast start up was also a bonus!

My older laptop had the capability to upgrade. It made sence to mdo it at have a good computer to use. I was very happy with the process. It was like having a new computer for $100+.

It's Windows 8.1, it will do until Windows 10 comes out.

I use multiple platforms at home. Primarily mac and pc. I use mac for work and my pc for everything else. Windows 8.1 might bother those who are used to old things in windows 7 and below. but because of the free upgrade you get to windows 10, this purchase is great value.

Lacks driver update for video cards. Display is fuzzy because the proper drivers are not supplied. This is a Windows problem.

Honestly I hated 8 when it first came out, but 8.1 has improved alot of the UI to where it doesnt force the touchscreen nonsense down your throat. Its never chugged or crashed on me either. Just beware leaving your computer unattended for any amount of time, MS will force you to upgrade to windows 10 without your consent.

I liked it better when office was on all computers you bought. This is a good product and I will have it no matter what.

Windows 8.1 is a step above Windows 8.0 and is a very stable Operating System, but it is still lacking the Start Button features of Windows 7 and previous versions. Fortunately there are free programs out that will give you back the Start Button and control over your computer once more. Overall, as long as you have a newer computer that has enough power and memory to run it, it will go on easy and perform better than the original Windows 8. Just be prepared to either download and instal a program to to get your start button back or learn where all the places Microsoft decided to hide everything at.

i don't get all the hate for Windows 8. Yeah it's different but thats not always a bad thing. Overall i would recommend

Like any new software this just takes a little patients to get used to it. Its early but i think it will be just fine.

Great Microsoft product. It is exactly what you would expect but requires some getting used to from previous versions.

I like that desktop mode has not changed that much. The other apps are cool!!

Windows 8 is a great operating system for touchscreen users. The start screen is well designed and easy to use.

I picked up Windows 8 (previously running Vista) for my new laptop. Assuming one doesn't have an Apple computer, some variety of Windows is basically a requirement for a PC gamer (though Linux is getting better in that respect). All Win 7 or Win 8 keys are eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10, and after using 8 for a bit, I'm chomping at the bit for a non-Metro style OS.

It could be better but it's an improvement from 7. It runs petty fast and can be pretty efficient one you get used to it. The start panel is awkward for PCs with normal screens since it's made for touch screens. The desktop part works great though.

Everything works fine as expected. Bought this for schooling purposes.
