My Windows 8 version on my laptop got corrupted. Instead of buying a repair disk for $15 i decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1 instead and install a new SSD Hard drive at the same time. I always like to have a hard copy of windows installation disks just in case.

the program worked like normal. I don't like how the new tiles are now but it must be because I'm hard to change. I'm trying to change that. now the negative is with the purchasing experience with best buy. the associate that in the end sold the software to me was less than professional. in a nut shell I had to wait for him to finish his conversation with his coworker buddy. while standing right in front of the both of them, them ignoring me and they saw me, I know that they plan on going out that Friday night and getting some drinks. anyways it wasn't about anything important so I decided to interrupt them and say I needed to know where to pick up the item. ill keep it short for now but he didn't seem to like it that I asked for an item, the idea is that I look around for it and then let someone else ring it up. there is more to this but I don't care anymore. this is the costa mesa store in California.

Purchased Windows 8.1 to run PC apps on a Mac computer.

Many of the problems I was having with Windows 7 have now been eliminated with the installation of Windows 8.1. Plus, I enjoy the 8.1 system much more than Windows 7.

Installed quickly on both my desktop pc and laptop. Have to say 8.1 is great on a touch screen laptop but not so much on a desktop. Still getting used to it. Though I do like how they integrated various functions.

Happy with the ease of installation and operation. Contours to your hand making it easy to manuver. I would recommend this mouse for anyone looking for a laptop mouse.

Did everything it was supposed to do. No complaints.

Purchased Windows 8 for a new computer. Works Great!! Easy installation. We were using this operating system and on the internet in just a short amount of time.

I should note that I'm a Mac guy, and have been for many years. We have machines running Windows in the office (most of them are Macs running BootCamp haha), so over the years I've had the opportunity to preview and test several incarnations of Windows. Windows 8 was clearly made for a tablet, not a desktop machine. On a desktop, the workflow is clunky and not intuitive. If you're considering switching from Windows 7, I would go into Best Buy and fiddle around with some of the desktops running Windows 8. NOT a tablet, or a laptop or desktop with a touch-screen. Just a standard desktop. This is all, of course, coming from someone who still thinks Windows XP was the best incarnation ever. :)

Not much to say. It works as it should. I grew up using PCs. After using a MAC I started moving away from Windows Just simpler to use then a MAC Less viruses, less slowdowns. But again, it works.

I liked W7 but this one is new and different. Getting use to it. Easy to install too. Nothing too complicated.

Works flawlessly. I've worked with Windows and other operating systems for several years and Microsoft is now producing a very clean, easy to use system.

Good update to Windows 8. Better to use and brought back some familiar items from older Windows versions, for those of us who like that. Help with my transition and works great with my touch screen PC.

Bought a Computer that needed an Operating system. Bought the windows 8.1, installed without any problems.

I recently upgraded two laptops that were operating just ok. I really like the look and performance of my computers after downloading Microsoft 8.1.

Hard drive crashed on my Gateway, and Gateway does not give you a OS disk which sucks. So had to get a new OS. Decent price, works as advertised.

The upgrade to 8.1 went seamlessly. It required a little different approach but was not difficult to learn.

so excited to have this for my computer-i had windows 7 - but windows 8 is awesome - having lotsd of fun playoing the games that are loaded on it

This operating system has worked fantastically so far and the installation was super easy. I would definitely recommend this version of Windows.
