I already had 8.1, but my Harddrive died and my laptop didn't come with the OS disk. Liked 8.1 so bought it again.

Windows 10 starts up very fast and I love the new layout. It is very user friendly and easy to navigate around.

I was not really into windows 8 products but this 8.1 is awesome and bestbuy customer service were great as well

Windows 8.1 is a definite upgrade for 8. It still takes some getting used to, the tile layout can become....infuriating...but a solid product overall.

With just a little bit of pre-installation research and looking at tutorials and help on windows.com, it's not that hard of an OS to get used to! It's fast, sleek, and responsive. If you long for how Win7 works with the Start Menu and Start Menu button, you can have the same thing by getting Start8 by Stardock for a very nominal, reasonable price; it will boot you right into the desktop, like we're used to. I read a lot of reviews on Start Menu replacements, and it's the best. Upgrading from Win7 to Win 8.1 was flawless and didn't take long at all. Be advised, though, you will have to reinstall programs but personal files will be migrated over. As a "just in case," though, you should back up any files you don't want to lose in My Documents, etc. All in all, once you're poked around under the hood of Win 8.1, it's not that hard to get around.

Windows 8.1 is the same as 8, just has some updates to it like security. The annoying thing is the block look of all your apps that you use and if you can't find it go up or down from a bottom pop up. Or just go to desktop and you'll see the regular looking windows desktop. It works good, it's actually faster on a 5200 or 74000 RPM drive than 7 was for me. So less wait time for start up. Overall good, but the blocks I just never liked as many don't.

At first I was a little sketchy about getting windows 8, and upgrading from windows 7, because I know they improve on features and take out features. I built my own Gaming PC and installed windows 8.1. You can set the tiles/programs you want and everything is a touch or click away from starting up. I haven't had any problems with this OS. I am very satisfied with it, and I would recommend that everyone should at least give it a chance to learn this OS. P.S. I am finding the features that I thought might have been taken out, you just have to find ways to access them.

What is all the fuss about? I like Windows 8. I think it got a bad rap from the beginning. It's easy to install, walks you right through it. My pc is running much more efficiently now. There's a little bit of a learning curve, but it's not bad at all. I highly recommend Windows 8, and I would buy it again.

Installed on a mid-tower computer I made. took some time to9 get used to but I like the operating system.

I really enjoyed the upgrade from my windows 7 machine to the windows 8.1 OS. Even though my computer now runs the new windows 10, I would still recommend this as some of the drivers for my computer are not compatible for windows 10.

I love new operating systems, and I have a Windows 8.1 tablet. So, this purchase was perfect for me. If you're still using Windows XP, you might struggle with adapting; if you're using Windows 7, you will adjust quicker. Make sure you run the compatibility wizard on the MS website before you install - that'll tell you what programs might not work once you upgrade.

Did what it was supposed to. It's unfortunate that I had to buy it. But the $1000 laptop I bought ran windows 8 and you have to make your own backup disc and I didn't know that. It was the only way to get it running normal again

This is a great product. I even got to upgrade to Windows 10! I bought this at Best Buy because I needed to upgrade my computer for school.. I price matched it to Walmart.com but the store clerk said they can't price match Walmart.com anymore because Walmart.com is no longer owned by Walmart. But the manager was nice enough to let me buy it at that price so thanks for the great service at Best Buy! I give them an A++ rating

Better OS than the original Windows 8. Got it for my macbook to run on bootcamp, but my macbook was too old (2009). I installed it on an SSD and am using it on an old pc laptop. Overall great product, smooth and functional.
