Huge improvement over 1st-gen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The newest generation of this adapter has solved all of the issues that were present in the 1st-generation. The unit itself is smaller and less protruding, and there are no more issues with signal lag.

Great Travel Tool

I used to travel with a 25 foot HDMI cable, but now I just bring the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter v2. I travel 3 weeks per month, each week a different hotel. I like my laptop to the MWDA2 in order to use the TV as a second screen for work or to watch videos. I highly recommend. Better than a chromecast as no Internet is required for use.

Doesn't connect

The first one connected one time and displayed the extended desktop but after that I could never get to connect again no matter what trouble shooting method I tried and I'm fairly techie. The second one worked for about a week with various issues occurring like delays and lag and sudden drops for no reason. As if now the thing is acting just like the first one and refuses to connect and display anything. I would not recommend this to anyone that doesn't have significant experience dealing with these problems. You would be better off buying an HDMI cord that's long enough to reach your other screen or buy a graphics card with more than one HDMI port if you're like me and bought this for that reason.

great for casting pc content to tv

The setup of streaming whats on your computer is straight forward.

It's great for working on the PC with the Office applications, Excel, Word, etc., or just surfing the web and reading articles, where high definition is not really relevant. I would not recommend for streaming. I would recommend for surfing the web and working.
