    Just too easy, plug in the usb receiver into the laptop, put the battery in the mouse, turn the mouse on and its working.

    I ended up buying Microsoft wireless mobile mouse 3500 as my wireless mobile mouse 4000 scrolling wheel rubber started sticking and disintregated. I am really not too happy with this product rubber material. In less than two years and light use can cause such a problem. Anyhow, I will have to wait for Microsoft's answer to this problem before I recommend the Microsoft wireless mouse. (I bought second one for its attractive price)
