This is the fave mouse for my household and anyone who buys on our recommendation. You can program the wheel and its click as well as the side button (I use it to magnify). You can use this mouse for hours without your hand cramping. The only problem now is this: MS warranties this mouse for 3 years-great, right? Not anymore. You see, the plastic that encircles the wheel tends to stretch and/or break, becoming useless; usually within the 1st year (mine is done at 8 months this time. Once the plastic is gone, it makes it very difficult to use the wheel w/the efficiency it used to have. I called MS, they are happy to send a replacement but NOW I must send the defective mouse back. I will then have more money in an initially reasonably priced mouse. While I love the mouse, I will prob just keep replacing it now and MS can make $$ off my replacement or USPS will make $$ off my mailing the bad one back. Very disappointing.

I was very pleased with my purchase of this mouse. It had a great price, the set up was very simple (came with software), it's very smooth and works on almost any surface (I use mine on a cloth ottoman without any trouble), and the battery seems to last a long time. I really like the on/off switch feature. The micro transmitter that plugs into the usb is definitely much better compared to the full usb plug in that sticks out 3-4 inches. I can leave my transmitter plugged in and pack my laptop in the bag without any trouble, and as long as I flip the mouse switch off, the transmitter doesn't use any of the battery. You can customize all 4 buttons to the way you like. Overall, this is a great product and you can't beat the price!

I don't generally buy microsoft items but the price, compared to a logitech of the same size/class, was too good to pass up so I decided to give this one a try. I wasn't disappointed. This mouse is reliable and fits comfortably in my hand. It very rarely drops signal and is always super responsive. The USB fob/receiver has a nice low profile so, unlike wireless mice of old, you have no chance of breaking the USB stick. I only use this with my laptop about two or three times a week to reference while I sew, surf the internet or use as a mobile cookbook in the kitchen - probably not more than 4 to 6 hours a week. I was somewhat unimpressed with it's battery life - one month per AA battery - but that is really all that there is to complain about. Compared to the other mice in this category, this one seemed as though it was more ergonomic and, in my opinion, it is. I would buy this again.

Good battery life. Good precision. A bit on the small side but not by much The only thing that really does not work is that if you need to use scroll wheel as a middle button it just does not work well.

Although the range is a bit weak, about 3 feet until electronic interference will start to interfere (it's not horrible but annoying every once in a while) I can't downgrade this mouse's feel. I'm a web developer and a mouse is very important to me. The feel and size of this mouse is perfect. I've owned 3 total, one I had to leave at a former employer and immediately purchased a new one for my current job. with many different colors it'll be easy to find one you like. GET THIS MOUSE1

This wireless mouse is incredibly accurate, feels great (albeit somewhat small), and is sturdy. It works from distances (at my apartment, worked fine from ten feet) on almost any surface (did not try glass). Microsoft has made a great product. I am not certain how long the battery lasts, as I bought this recently, but it does have an on/off switch. The software that comes with the mouse allows for full customization of each button. I set my middle button to exit a program. Accelerated scrolling also works great. The blue track technology is great. Works better than my optical corded mouse.

This is one of the best wireless mice that I have used. It was easy to connect to my HP laptop. The battery has great life, the mouse is comfortable in my hand, and is very portable. It is small enough to slide into my laptop bag for the days I need to travel. The BlueTrack works great on all the different surfaces I've used it on - wood table, countertop, tile floor, even low pile carpet! I would highly recommend this to anyone that doesn't like the touchpad or stick mouse on a laptop, or desktop users looking for a good wireless mouse.

I've owned this mouse for over a year and a half now. I can confidently say that this is the one everyone should use with their laptops on the go. The best thing about this mouse is the weight and balance. It takes only one AA battery and it since just right of the center. This creates the perfect balance when you're lifting the mouse. The shape of the mouse perfectly contours to you hand (I have very large palms but it still fits me). The sides have a grip texture which allows for easy movement. The top is matte which avoids fingerprints and smudges. The scroll wheel is AWESOME. I've been used to the Logitech scroll wheels the have a click for every 3 lines of scrolling. This scroll wheel has NO clicking. It's just perfectly smooth with the perfect resistance. The side button is also useful although I've never found myself using accessory buttons that often. I set it to go back a page which is primarily useful when surfing the web. The Bluetrack Technology works wonderfully as well. I found the mouse to be very accurate and it works on a variety of different surfaces. I primarily use it on wood or granite tops but it does work on carpet as well. I haven't checked if it works on glass or not. In terms of battery life, this mouse is a beast! I always turn it off once I'm done using it which probably has helped me. The battery last at least a year that way which I consider very good. The USB dongle stores flush with the bottom and is very easy to take it. It's just the perfect design. Get this one!

This is the best wireless mouse I have used! Good fit to the hand with the scroll wheel and back key right there! The click back key is a neat feature. I also like the on/off switch to save on battery life!

Had been in the market for a new wireless mouse for some time now but didn;t want to break the bank to get a new on. To be honest this wasn't even the mouse I intended to buy but since the store was out, I picked up this one instead. The blue track technology that this mouse employs is great since it works on any surface. Great Buy for sure.

This is clearly labeled as a MOBILE mouse, hence its small size. So don't pay attention to the previous negative review. They apparently didn't understand what they were buying as pretty much all mice branded as mobile are quite small... That or perhaps they just have large hands in which case its small size could potentially be problematic. With that aside, the mouse works great and I have been very happy with it. I bought it to replace a larger, older Microsoft wireless mouse. I was tired of having the large wired receiver hanging off the back of my laptop. This mouse with it's mini receiver works perfectly for what I needed. While the mini receiver barely sticks out of the laptop I will still probably remove it during travel as it could still put unneeded pressure on the USB ports. I really like the fact that there is a slot on the bottom of the mouse to store the receiver if you do remove it from the computer, very slick. Also, the BlueTrack technology is fantastic. It works so much better than all my other optical mice (both corded and wireless, Microsoft and Logitech). I can use this mouse on surfaces that gave my other optical mice fits. For example, it tracks just as well on my shiny, black wood coffee table or on fabric sofa cushions as it does on an actual mouse pad! Very impressive! No more having to keep a mouse pad in my messenger bag! Overall, great little mouse. Highly recommended for mobile users.

I like how this mouse is built. It's very comfortable (I have small hands) and build quality is great. It also looks good IMHO - makes a very nice impression when you take it out of your bad :) It also has comfortable rubber grips on the sides and a convenient on/off switch so you can leave the USB receiver plugged in all the time (it's small enough to be plugged in all the time without causing any issues). there is also a place to pluch in the receiver if you need to. To me it looks like the Microsoft "blue track" technology is not really that much better than other laser/optical mice I had. I was hoping this one will actually work "anywhere" but unfortunately it does not work on shiny surfaces very well. I'm not even talking about glass, it won't work even on shiny wooden desktops and places where other mice will work fine. Note however that the mouse now goes for a very attractive price (below $30) in some places so it's really a good buy at this price - just don't expect anything exceptional. When it does work, however, it is very precice. I've had this mouse for a few months now but not enough to comment on batter life. However i don't expect this to be an issue. So bottom line: A very good mouse which I recommend, but lower your expectations about working anywhere. To me it looked very similar to other laser/optical mice on the market.

Have had this mouse for over a month, it does what it has advertise. I have used it on glass, magazines, everything glossy and it works no issues. Replaced battery once so far since I use it for WOW and Guild Wars. Small compact design but what sold me what the wireless receiver it's small and unnoticeable unlike earlier models.

I just got this as a gift from my son. I use a mouse with my laptop because I just can't get used to that touch pad, and this mouse is by far the best one I've tried. It has a great feel, fits nicely in my hand. It seems to work on any surface, & is totally customizable. If and when I ever need another mouse, this is what I'll be getting and recommending to everyone.

Mouse is easy to install. Battery life is pretty good. The smaller size is comfortable. Mouse is durable. The slot in the bottom side of the mouse for storing the sensor is a great feature, less likely to loose it. Overall, it is a great product.

I purchased this for my wife's new HP windows 7 laptop and she loves it. Didn't even bother to install the software. Windows 7 took care of it in about 3 seconds. The other laptop mouse she was using had the older style much larger transceiver. She always worried about banging it into the arm of the couch etc. Now that problem is gone and this mouse works great. I would've given this 5 stars but we've only had it for a month and IMHO it's priced a little high.

This is the 2nd one of this mouse I bought. Only wireless mouse that last more than 6 months. I like the design; it can be used with either hand and the 'back button' is a nice feature. Battery lasts a long time; so very energy efficient. Best Buy offerred a very nice price. Great product!

The Blue Track technology that this mouse has is less precise than the laser technology Microsoft uses in other mouses. I have a Bluetooth mouse by Microsoft that uses laser technology and it is more precise and accurate on different surfaces. Overall it was a good purchase for $16 but I would not pay the full price for this mouse.
