I redeemed the gift card in order to lock in my best buy points because they were about to expire. Trying to redeem the code, it didn't work. i got the message "Code invalid, contact merchant." So I called Best buy customer service and they said I had to go in store because I bought it in store. I go to the store, wait 30 min in line for them to tell me I need to contact Microsoft. I contact Microsoft and they want proof of purchase and card so I had to email pictures to them. I got the message, "your issue will be resolved." I'm waiting and waiting and then finally it has been a week since I bought the gift card before I got tired of waiting and re inquired about my issue and told them my service request number. Finally, I got it resolved by a microsoft agent. Gave me the same code... it was printed on the card wrong... new code's last 2 characters were switched. But what a pain... I should be able to buy a code and use it right then and there. Instead I had to jump through hoops. BB CS call (15 min) extra trip to BB (30 min) wait in line (30 min) 1st microsoft chat (45 min) second microsoft chat (30 min) = 2.5 hours of my own time Don't buy these codes... just purchase products through xbox. If you want to use it as a gift card for someone else, you can gift games through xbox as well so id recommend you do that instead. Good thing I bought through Best Buy. If a code was invalid and i bought from a sketchy seller then i might've been SOL.

It seems too easy to just get a card and load it with cash and hand it to a child.
