Great Console in a Small Package
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I’ll start off saying my primary console is a PS5, I wanted one of the next gen Xbox’s to play the exclusive games. I didn’t have super high hopes for this console as it is the entry level Xbox instead of the Series X. However, I was very wrong. This little thing is fast, has good graphics, and you can’t go wrong with Game Pass. When I’ve had Xbox’s in the past, all my games have been digital anyway so the Series S works great for me. For $300, this is a fantastic console especially if your game library is mostly digital. The only drawback I’ve found is the storage space that’s available. Out of the box, I believe you get around 360 GB which isn’t a lot considering the size of games nowadays. I ended up getting the Segate 2TB external that works perfectly with it, it was around $100.

High speed - small package
|Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent device for the price. For those competitive gamers out there - it hits the high refresh rate at 1080p. Most modern gaming desktops are gunna be $1100+ for something that the $299 series S can do. Kinda crazy if you ask me.

Love this Xbox
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only reason I got this Xbox, was because of the value of Gamepass, I’m not planning on buying any games for it. Nonetheless, this Xbox had definitely surprised me, the speed of the ssd is amazing, quick resume works incredibly with many games and with the addition of Ea games to gamepass, the value of gamepass has gotten better. If you are someone who wants an entry console to video gaming, I would recommend this console with Ultimate gamepass. Worth every penny

Happy.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for casual gamers. I use it once a month of by seasons. Get Ultimate Game Pass and play all game via cloud gaming. The small storage can only handle 2-3 AAA games at a time.

Xbox for the Win
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome little gaming system for running Full Hd games. Love that there is the option to purchase the Xbox games pass which gives you full access to hundreds of games including Halo, and Forza. Runs great for any 60fps gamer.

Worth upgrading from One X
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a difference next-gen feels. While I was worried the Series S wouldn't feel next-gen compared to my Xbox One X, I can confirm the differences are well worth the investment. It's still up for debate if the Series S or X is the better bang for your buck, but if you're looking to enter next-gen gaming at entry level cost you can't go wrong with the Series S. The hardware itself is a sleeker, and I would argue more visually appealing than the Series X. Yes it's not as powerful, but if you don't have a larger 4k tv, you'll probably not even notice the graphical difference. Next-gen games are still missing, but with so many previous generation games receiving free X/S updates, it is a blast to play year+ old games at their peak. Examples like Mass Effect Trilogy at 60 fps, or Star Wars The Fallen Order 60 fps are a noticeable improvement. That, along with the significantly faster load times and quick resume feature, make this overall a much better console gaming experience over last gen hardware. For $300 you can't go wrong with this next-gen hardware, make your deal even sweeter and sign up for gamepass, where you can play Microsoft first party games on launch day for no additional cost.

Gets the job done great value.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It plays current and upcoming games for a little over $200. Elden Ring alone was worth it to me.The catalog of games available and the ability to play new releases for this amount of money is a great deal. The performance wasn't bad and the quality was decent. Great for kids or people who occasionally play games or who just don't want to fork over 500+ dollar start up cost.

Catch it when you can!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is certainly hard to get at this time, but worth the effort and the wait. It's not as powerful as the series x but it doesn't need to be because its 1080 not 4k. So if a powerful console that does it all on 1080 is what you want - this is it. Get the gold or better yet, get the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 3 months for $1 and add more months by watching for discounting.

Miss the discs
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system works as designed and no complaints there. However, no loving the strictly digital aspect. Games we had can not be played since this does not have a disc slot. Finding a unit that takes discs was impossible so this was what we ended up with. The controller started sticking a few weeks after purchase so we had to get a replacement.

Great low-cost option for next-gen hardware!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great way to get into next-gen for a low price. Who needs an optical drive in 2021? And those who say not to buy the S because of the storage... I got news for ya. That 1TB in your series X ain't gonna be enough either in a year or two (if you are a serious gamer). So you're going to end up buying the expanded storage either way.

Love the Series S and X
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a Series X for myself and an S for my daughter. I'm really pleased with the S overall, even comparing it to my Series X. All in all, it's not a replacement for an X, but it's just a nice console for a child or anyone that just doesn't demand the absolute top of the line hardware. Series S optimized games have all been a satisfying experience, but do vary depending on what the developers targeted for. It's very small and discreet and looks nice sitting in the living room, where as a Series X and a PS5 are both well... Very large and hard not to make themselves seen and that is a problem for some people. The storage is definitely on the smaller end, and can fill up quicker depending what you want installed. My daughter mostly just plays Minecraft and Roblox, and neither of those demand much space, so it's been a non issue for us. I'm glad Microsoft made this device because it's just perfect for my child, whereas a Series X would just be more than she needed. I really recommend it to any casual gamers or younger players, and even some enthusiasts like myself if they aren't bother by the compromises. It's a great system.

Very Satisfied
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Series S is really solid. After some research the main difference between this and the X is resolution and little bit more horsepower. In my experience, being a PC gamer also, if you get 60 FPS, you're good. Your eyes cannot see FPS higher than 60. Once it's 60 FPS or more, it looks smooth. Resolution wise, I have a Standard HD TV. I have no desire for 4K resolution at this point in my life. This game plays everything at 60FPS, it's very smooth, it's crispy, the colors look good, the games run better. This is a great improvement from the Xbox One S. It was also very easy to set up, very similar to that of apple, just login and your stuff is ready to go. Storage is a bummer. It comes with 370GB available out of the 512...I wish they would just say this. That's a lot of storage I don't have due to system stuff. But you can add a memory card....yay.... I'm glad I caved and got this, as long as PS games get released on PC, I don't need a PS5. Xbox knows what they're doing.
