Customers are saying

Customers commend the Xbox Series S for its affordability, compact size, and impressive performance, especially considering its price point. Many appreciate the ease of use and fast load times, along with the benefits of Xbox Game Pass. However, some users point out limitations in storage capacity and the lack of a disc drive as significant drawbacks. The console's resolution capabilities also receive mixed feedback.

Great for what my son and I use it for. Which is only gaming. I don't run any other apps on it. Mostly just stuff on Gamepass.

Such a powerful machine I bought this for my 6 year old while I have the series X tower but the series S runs amazing and the biggest downfall is the memory but the price difference is favoring the series S just delete games and keep a few in rotation because this machine is extremely powerful n fast and looks beautiful in games im happy with this purchase and I paid more for my Xbox one being 375 after taxes when it first came out and I paid 315 for this beast after taxes. My son loves for the price point you cant beat it

I'm definitely not a gamer in any sense of the word. The last gaming system I owned was the PS1. Or Nintendo 64, I know cause I rocked the heck out GoldenEye. What I like the most is the size, the value, and adding a monthly subscription to game pass makes it worth the money spent on the console. I also use it as my media hub, with the controller it's easy to navigate but adding a compatible media remote makes streaming, video watching, and app switching easy. Definitely recommend this gaming system for it's value and capabilities.

Used to own a PS4, but had to make the switch to XBox after not being able to purchase a PS5. The XBox is far superior and much easier to use and interact with.

This right here is a perfect console for someone not chasing latest and greatest graphics. I could buy 2 of these for the price of my PC's GPU, and that's not even talking about other components. My eyes aren't all that great, but I still like the way games look on my 55 inch 4K panel - not quite like my PS5 (favorite console this gen), but that thing's $200 more and barely in stock, unlike this. If you don't care about not being able to buy cheap disk games from previous gen, just go for it. MS store sales are pretty good, game pass is a great deal too, I never run out of stuff to play. My only complaint is the controller (I prefer DualSense for the button feel + you need rechargeable batteries for this one), but they improved the d-pad over Xbox One's pad anyway. Just go get it if it's in stock.

Purchased this after failing to find the X. Currently own the PS5 as well. Hooked it up to the same TV as the PS5 and was pleasantly surprised by the series S. Dirt 4 is the only game I currently own in digital format but it ran so much better than the One S. Pros: Fast load times. Next gen capability. $300 for a gaming console that rivals gaming PCs costing much more. Small size makes it easy to tote around. Quiet. Cons: Small storage for an all digital unit. With no disc drive you can’t play any of your physical collection. There is some debate on the longevity of its current hardware configuration. Very happy so far with this purchase and would buy it again. If you really want a disc drive to be able to play your physical collection and can swing the extra $200 get the X, if you can find one. I just use my old One s to play all my physical copies.

I have both xbox series x and xbox series s. They are both extremely quiet. I had a PS5 that I sold and was much noisier than these two consoles from Microsoft. With my 4K Sony OLED, Madden 21 plays in 4K with HDR on both series x and series s. In my opinion, this series s version at $299 is a great buy. If you don't need the extra storage and/or a disc drive, this is a fantastic bargain. I love it and the series x as well. Microsoft is now my console of choice. The controller is same on both series x and series s. The only difference is color. I might give PS controller the edge, if you're into sound coming from controller, but when it comes to consoles. there is no comparison--Microsoft is to me the clear winner. One other thing to note, when pairing controller on xbox, you don't have to connect any cables--thank goodness! And when updating controller, no need to connect cables--thank goodness!

Xbox Series S. If about 2 years ago you told me i would be buying another Xbox id say you were crazy But i ended up doing it for a number of reasons. 1. While i game a fair amount i dont always have time to go after the most expensive special nexr gen editions of games and just wanted something to enjoy without spending a ton of money. The series S on top of using Gamepass to me was a great way to go and with some titles even including RTX in them? And for a system under $300 to me that is a steal. I hope my xbox series s will continue to work for a very long time and have many amazing games put on the platform for ke to try out. And here is hoping xbox 360 games from previous store make the move over. Id love to play older games that currently arent on the store if that ever happens.

Very happy with my new system, I was going to wait for the X model but my older system stop working, so I have to go with the S, but very happy I have a external memory from my previous console and all my games were there already, so was a plug and play, and I save some money

The product is great!! I was just taken by surprise that you wanted to charge me 11 cents for a bag when I spent over $1,000 dollars on my last purchase. Not sure I will ever forget that one.

Good game system for the average user, but based on Microsoft, kind of sounds like they are going to take your money and throw it away by coming up with a new generation above the series x/s.

Excellent system. Works swift and as advertised. High speeds, both for downloading and for playing. I do wish it was easier to enter information in either via voice or keyboard input from phone app. Outside of those small considerations. Excellent product.

My son truly enjoys gaming during the weekend and holidays. It is a big difference playing on an XBOX Series S compared to the Xbox One. I am glad the price went down and is more affordable

This is my fourth XBox in my lifetime (OG, One, One S, Series S). This one works great. It is quite a bit smaller than even the One S that it replaced. I have it standing on the edge to conserve desk space (be sure you place it away from the edge so that it won’t fall to the floor if you happen to tip it over). I have not had any problems with heat. Games run properly and pairing devices (Elite 2 Controller and Xbox Wireless Headset) work great. Only complaint is that you can’t attach an external USB SSD and play games from the external storage. All games must run from the built-in storage or the optional Seagate Storage Expansion that plugs into a slot on the back. :(

This a great little console for the money especially if you are, or plan to be a Xbox Game Pass Subscriber. The lack of a physical game drive is a little disappointing especially if you have a lot of old games on disk. The hard drive is 500gb which is fine if you are playing a lot of old games (digitally) or indie games, but if you want to play AAA games expect to only have 3 or 4 on your console at a time. and having to pay an extra $300 for the official expandable storage SSD kinda just makes me want take my chances on getting a Series X. I was playing on an original Xbox One before, so the jump in graphics and frame rate is great, but the most significant improvement is the load times thanks to the SSD. I feel like most modern games like Halo and Call of Duty you can usually get about 60 FPS which is nice compared to older consoles, but I remember them marketing the Series S as being able to get 120FPS which is a bit of a bummer that didn't come true. However if you do have a 120Hz TV or Monitor I think it can get 120Hz refresh rate which is also nice. Overall if you are coming from an original Xbox One or Xbox One S, and already have a lot of digital games owned or plan on becoming a Game Pass Subscriber, I think this console is great improvement and should be able to hold you over until the Series X becomes more available at retail price. Also another bonus for this thing is its overall size is pretty tiny which makes it super easy to toss in backpack or bag to bring to a friends house or when going out of town.
