One of the best gaming options around!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely amazing gaming machine! This is the best route to go with next-gen gaming, if you don't need to use older disks, Blu-ray movies, or don't have a fancy 120Hz 4K TV. My 65" 4k Samsung upscales practically everything - including my games that run at 1440p. I bought a 4TB expandable HDD and now have over 70 games installed, thanks to Game Pass Ultimate. I used to only play PlayStation, since PS1/PS2, but this is some next level stuff - for only $299. Now that Bethesda is owned by Microsoft, there's a lot more to look forward to. I may be getting a Series X, once I upgrade to a 120hz TV, especially if Microsoft offers a good trade-in option

Posted .Hey Alex,
We're happy to hear that you consider Xbox Series S to be a great option for next-gen gaming. Investing in an external hard drive is a great suggestion, especially if you have a large library of older Xbox games that aren't optimized for Xbox Series X/S. As you mention, there's a lot to look forward to with Xbox. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Happy gaming,
Chuck

Great Budget Console
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great entry console to enter "XBOX Ecosystem". The load times are amazing compared to the previous generations. Paired this with game pass ultimate and it's perfect for a casual gamer. My only issue is the hard drive capacity. You get about 300+GB for games. Would definitely recommend adding an SSD for backward compatibility games.

Good but Needs More Performance Options
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for the actual next-gen gaming experience, buy an Xbox Series X. If you are purchasing this for your kids, then it's perfect, but If you are an adult with a 4K TV, go with the XSX; trust me, you will be much better off. I will give Microsoft credit for the design of this console. It's great! However, they say it's made for 1440p gaming, and in my opinion, it is not; it's suitable for 1080p @ 60 FPS. The main issue is that most game developers still do not give many options for adjusting resolution and performance. There are games that this system should be able to run at 1080p @ 60 FPS with no issues, but it's not an option you can select. If game developers start to embrace more of the quality/performance options you get on PC, this system will be a bargain for $299.

Unsung hero of 9th gen consoles
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This beauty accelerated my transition to mostly digital/online gaming and it's been a beautiful experience, not just because I no longer have to deal with disc case clutter but also because the Series S is a true entertainment hub. Perhaps the thing I appreciate most about it is that it works with just about every streaming app out there from HBO Max to Showtime Anytime to even the Criterion Channel. It's tiny compared to most consoles nowadays and that only adds to its usefulness. My Series S, I feel, best represents the consolidation of entertainment in the console. A true one-stop shop for my entertainment.

Worth the upgrade!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Happy with my purchase. I upgraded from 1TB xboneS. The only con I have about it is the 512GB internal drive. I was already prepared for the small amount of memory bc I already own a baraacuda 2TB ssd drive. The series S internal drive can hold about 4-6 games depending on the size of each game. I would keep any games that are optimized for Series S and store all other games on the external ssd drive (definitely must have IMO). I’ve been playing Warzone and coldwar lately and those two games together take up a good chunk of internal memory drive. With that said, I only have 2 maybe 3 other games that can be installed from Game Pass.
