The charging device charges both units at the same time. If you have them in two locations like house and workshop they have to be together. I would not buy it again except if children wanted to play with it.

These radios average about 1/4 of mile due to their low wattage. Contact support@midlandusa.com for recommendations or possible exchange options.

Purchased these to replace a 3+ year old set of Midland radios. Complete mistake! The previous ones would last 12-18 hours. These struggle to hit 3.

Posted .Hello! We recommend that the Initial charge time is 24 hours with a charge time of 12 hours thereafter. For maximum battery life, we recommend charging the battery pack when the low battery icon comes on. We give to kids at the campground an couldn’t be happier. Finally get them to put the cell phones down when they have these. Very small tho thought they be bigger but works great

Posted .A full charge with rechargeable batteries is up to 5 hours. Alkaline batteries can also be used with this radio model.
