Posted .The T31s average 1/4 to 1/2 mile. These are FRS radios, which are 2 watts or under. A general rule for the range is 1 mile per watt. The FCC allows for the maximum wattage of a handheld to be 5 watts. The extreme ranges can be reached in perfect conditions such as mountain top to mountain top.

Faulty Batteries

Radio onlys works if plugged in and dies immediately. Other radio works but batteris die quickly, assuming they are almost faulty also.

Terrible Battery life

For maximum battery life, we recommend charging the battery pack when the low battery icon comes on. Easy to use

Posted .The T31 is a 1/2 watt radio which is a lower power radio than some of the other Midland radios. A general rule for the range is 1 mile per watt. Different ranges according to obstructions are illustrated on the packaging. The extreme ranges can be reached in perfect conditions such as over water or mountain top to mountain top.
