Doesn't retain charge to make it through the day

The charging device charges both units at the same time. If you have them in two locations like house and workshop they have to be together. I would not buy it again except if children wanted to play with it.

Purchased these to replace a 3+ year old set of Midland radios. Complete mistake! The previous ones would last 12-18 hours. These struggle to hit 3.

Posted .Hello! We recommend that the Initial charge time is 24 hours with a charge time of 12 hours thereafter. For maximum battery life, we recommend charging the battery pack when the low battery icon comes on. Posted .We hear your frustration and would be happy to make recommendations on radios with a better range. If the radios are within warranty an exchange is possible too. These radios average about 1/4 of mile due to their low wattage. Contact support@midlandusa.com for recommendations or possible exchange options.
