My building is no more that 2000 sq ft and they are charged every night after being used from 8-10pm daily. After only 3 months they will no longer fully charge and shut off immediately after trying to push the talk buttons when removed from power and powered on. They were okay while they worked, the call button was extremely annoying and is in a location that’s easy to accidentally push. Overall, I’m not really happy that I paid $50 and only get 3 months out of these. Unfortunately, it looks like my company will have to eat the cost because of Best Buy’s short refund policy.

Posted .Hey Chelsea, while Best Buy might have a short refund policy Midland Radio holds a 1 year warranty on almost all of our products and the T51VP3 actually holds a 3 year warranty. Please give us a call so we can discuss your communication needs. The T51VP3 is certainly not the radio I would suggest for business use inside a building like you mention. You would want at least the LXT600VP3 or even an actual business radio. Our team can talk through your needs and help find you a radio that will work perfectly for you. Lost at sea with no working walkie talkies

I couldn't keep up with my daughter or husband they couldn't make out what i was saying and the same thing will me. All we got was static unless we was right by eacer other. And we take 3 to 4 cruises a year and we just gave up. Couldn't return them because by the time we got back from tne cruise it had been 30 to 45 days. Sad we really wanted them to work.

Posted .We hear your disappointment in the range. A cruise is a challenging environment for walkies to be used in. Many dense materials on a cruise ship include wood, concrete, and metal. Cruise ships also have several levels, which make communication with the walkie-talkies difficult. Once you do that the battery doesn’t charge. I’d return it but I had to use it for an event. Works fine if you put in 3 AAA batteries.

Posted .Please contact Support@midlandradio.com for assistance with this issue. The wrapping is meant to be fully intact and not cut. Please discontinue the use of the rechargeable batteries until you have contacted support. The batteries have a notice in red to not remove the outer casing.

So the range is 2miles give or take but definitely not 28 miles. Other than that within the 2 miles they are a good 2 way radio.

Posted .Range will be relative to line of sight, terrain, and obstructions. Range will be better in rural areas than urban areas because of less interference. The radios are rated as "Up to 28 miles" and can be achieved across open water, flat desert, or mountain top to mountain top.

Posted .Obstruction plays a big role with these radios, if there is obstruction in the way then this will decrease the range when in use. Make sure you are using a high power channel.

An hour into the adventure, it rained, and within 2 minutes, they were rendered useless. No water resistance whatsoever in my experience.

After about 500 feet, it's almost impossible to hear anything. Even in the house they have problems if someone is on the 2nd floor and the other person is in the basement.

We live in a rural area and my wife drove 2 miles down the road and that was about the extend of where anything would come through. I cannot even imagine in a city setting how close you would have to be. Very dissapointed

Weather Radio has excellent reception if the transmitters have been aligned properly. These radios have horrible range when communicating with each other. I was only able to get about 3/4 mile on open land with no obstructions and clear weather between vehicles on the interstate. Definitely no-where near the 28-miles advertised.

I live about two miles away from them and figured this would make them feel special that they could reach me and only me whenever they wanted. 25 mile range? More along the lines of 200 feet. I will be returning them and going with a different product. Pro is that they seem hardy and well built, but I don't feel that they are at all a reliable product.

Posted .Hey there - the transporting business makes me think that these radios are being used inside a vehicle. If that is the case, then yes you will see decreased range because the signal has to get around the metal and glass that make up your vehicle. As with any UHF radio, you need a line-of-sight to the other radio user.
