Love this movie and for $10 for Black Friday you can’t beat it in 4K. Mostly cgi so if u like real planes in ur movies this one isn’t that but the action and story of all the history is well told. It might not be completely accurate with history but I still enjoyed it a lot

Long about Charleston Heston did first Midway! This retelling in a much more in depth way let's you really feel intensity of how close things came to being completely different in this world. Alot of action, alot of tears, with a phenomenal cast assembled! Enjoy and let Midway forever change you!

This latest version of Midway is a decent enough but it suffers from a lack of detail and some poor casting choices. Ed Skrein, a British actor, who plays Richard "Dick" Best, one the heroic Dauntless dive bomber pilots who helped to sink four Japanese aircraft carriers just doesn't cut it. His "New Jersey" accent is not convincing and he overacts much of the time. Woody Harrelson as Admiral Chester Nimitz, overall commander of the Pacific Fleet is out of his depth, especially when compared to Henry Fonda's portrayal of Nimitz in the 1976 Midway movie. The technical effects of the bombing runs are good and the Atmos soundtrack is excellent with great use of the bass channel. The Dolby Vision and HDR10 versions are both very good. There is, however, a problem with the Dolby Vision version on some 4K UHD players, especially the Panasonic UB-820 and UB-9000, both superb machines. The movies freezes twice for around 15 seconds between 37 and 39 minutes. There appears to be an issue between these players and the latest Lionsgate release (including Knives Out). it should be noted that when the HDR10 version is played there are no problems so there is an option that avoids the issue. I'll recommend this but conditionally.

I have several versions of th movie both standard packaging bluray and this is my second steelbook of this movie. Of all the vdrsions this is my favorite. As far as the movie itself it is standard world war 'll Naval movie. Some of the special effects do not look real.

I don't buy movies unless the movie is one that I found to be exceptionally good. This movie fits that bill. I don't have a 4K player or TV but this movie might just make that happen. I've read books on this battle and even though it had some inaccuracies, it was still mostly correct.

Seeng this movie in a theater is still the best way to take in this movie, but this Ultra HD DVD on my 75” 4k TV with a great surround system comes closer than ever before.

Haven’t watched yet, but considering the good reviews, I’m really looking forward to it. The package arrived on time and in perfect shape. The special features are ample. And I love the steelbox collection I’m starting to amass. Thanks, Best Buy, for a great deal!

Not quite the documentary style of 1976's Midway movie, but absolutely not an overwrought, melodramatic movie. It presents the events reasonably accurately while still allowing for a bit of personal interaction between the participants. The special effects are quite good. The aircraft sequences were particularly good, in my humble opinion.

Midway in 4K playing on 7.2 surround system was phenomal! I enjoy war movies in general, so this was a must add to my collection of movies. The battle scenes in 4k puts you right in the cockpit...great movie and very pleased with the quality.

Awesome movie, hadn't seen it before now, but after seeing it, i will watch it again. At the end, they show the actor and show the real person whom the actor portrayed and give a little bit about him.

Great movie for people who love history and hearing about it. I think this movie really brings you along for the ride as it pulls you in with the characters and the story being told. The movie did manage to get across how dangerous and difficult it was for the battle of midway

Much better storytelling of midway compared to the 1979 movie. Very good acting and it tells a true story of what really occurred and how this probably saved the United States from invasion in the in the California and west coast area. Very important battle in World War II and well done.

I loved the cinematography and action in this movie. The way the story was depicted was fairly true to the actual events. What an incredible era of US and world history. While somewhat graphic in parts it is well worth the time. Probably too intense for pretend

Not only does this movie have an interesting and entertaining historically based story, it is amazing in 4K with Atmos! The sound was amazing for my home theatre and really showed off the new subwoofer that I installed recently! We really felt like we were apart of the action!

If you like war movies, watch this one. I've always been interested in ships and Naval combat. Of course, I was very familiar with this battle. The movie does a great job of representing the battle and the sacrifices on both sides.

I really love this movie. As a veteran and descendant of someone who was in this battle I just had to buy it. It really captures a lot of the emotions and trials the troops had to go through. The action was fun too. It was a good fathers day present.

This movie concerns the typically overlooked Pacific portion on WW2, and the events surrounding the Battle of Midway in particular. Even though The movie contained loads of cgi for obvious reasons, it was well rendered and looked pretty realistic for the most part. There just aren't many movies about stories of Pacific fighter pilots that I can recall and this one deserves a place in your collection.

This particular remake of Midway did a much better job of developing the characters and historical accuracy. CG's where used appropriately for telling the story. 4k HDR was excellent, but not having an Atmos set-up left some sound flat especially the dialogue.

Great Cast, this film fully honors the spirit of the military patriots that made this victory a resounding event for our nation. Display of Japanese behind the scenes planning great win for the film. I thoroughly enjoyed watching movie twice with all the special features

The purchase experience was easy and this shipped quickly to my door. For those thinking that streaming is providing high quality audio and video, when watching this in 4K with a 124" screen brings you immersively into the theater experience. Highly recommend!
