Since I teach a lot of classes, I needed a way to display on the big screen. Granted there are other ways and methods, but this made things easy for sure.

I had the original HDMI adapter for the Surface Pro 3, the end was different and did not fit into my display dock, but this one is flat and fits perfectly.

I did a lot of reading before buying this adapter. I had a surface book and a spare monitor at work. Brought the adapter home to only realize my monitor did not have an HDMI input. I felt like an idiot. We had an HDMI to VGA adapter and I plugged that in. The only thing was to get the monitor to wake up I had to keep unplugging replugging. It was someones personal adapter. Before returning the cable (I don't work close to Best Buy) another adapter was tried. And low and behold that adapter wakes up the monitor every time. I'm now very happy with my setup and this cable has worked great.

Connected my Surface Pro to 2 - 55" HDTV's through Dock. Works great!! Can watch HD videos with crystal clear sound straight from my Surface!! Highly recommend!!

Use with 27 & 40" monitors with no problem. Even dual.

If your monitor, TV or whatever you're trying to output to has HDMI then you definitely need this to bridge the gap from the Display Port on the Surface.

Out of the box and connected my monitor (Visio) to my computer (Surface 3 Pro with docking unit). Plus, used price match in store for lower cost.

Works great with my Surface Pro 4. The cord has great length and the it fits well into the minidisplay port. This is the only adapter I have used with my Surface machine, but also my friend with a macbook used it on his machine and it worked fine too. Transfers high resolution display to a monitor or TV & does the job splendidly. You can find a best buy branded insignia model for a little cheaper if you shop around though. I'd still recommend this product & you know you're getting quality when it's manufactured from Microsoft!

Works perfectly--allows me to connect my Surface Pro 3 to my HDTV to stream (I use it for the Sling App. Exactly what I was looking for.

This adapter worked as soon as it was plugged in. While I generally don't like buying cables and adapters retail, the Insignia brand allows me to get a reliable product at a better price.

Works well in turning my surface into a desk top. Have used others in the past but there were compatibility issues so this one is great.

Needed these cables to put two monitors on the dock, they seem to work well. Only downside is you have to buy special cables for it.

I use this with my Surface and it works great to connect to the projector or whatever else I may need to hook it up to using a HDMI cable.

It worked well with my Surface Pro to use for streaming to my TV. A normal HDMI cable will not fit correctly on the Surface Pro.

Although the necessity of an adapter for HDMI on the Surface Pro 3 is slightly frustrating, this HDMI adapter works just as promised.

Every surface user must have the HDMI adapter to connect to your TV or connnect to a projector. Gives your Surface more variety.

This was for my husband to be able to connect a video camera to an HDMI cable to view things on the tv and it worked as needed.
