Yes it’s cheap, and it occasionally works for phone calls IF you stand in one place that you find gives you the best reception in your house/outside. You won’t be heard by the other person on the call if you’re moving around. I have 1 bar on my phone at all times, and I live in a city. It’s not like I live in the middle of nowhere. The data is non existent, and only works if you’re within WiFi range. This is one of those cases where you get what you pay for. Anywhere else would give you better service for an additional $15. Save yourself the time, money and stress, and go somewhere else. You will be disappointed.

The phone and data works great. I leave the data on all of the time, and I still never run out. I am very happy with this service.

If you buy directly from Mint website they charge extra for some fees so it was worth to buy it from Bestbuy. Was pretty easy to switch my carrier to Mint

Easy to install and set up, switching my number from my previous carrier (T-Mobile) was almost instantaneous.

I figured that there had to be a "catch" of some kind. My experience with Mint has changed my mind. Setup was easy... cell signal strength has been great... call quality is excellent... there is nothing that I had to give up in order to save a lot each month. Why didn't I do this before? By the way... while my purchase date is recent, that is because this was a second purchase, for another family member. I bought my first Mint sim in May and had such a good experience that I bought a second one for someone else.

I decided to get mint mobile for a Samsung Gear VR headset I have so the kids could play with it. The Mint mobile coverage was good and being my main phone was being used for Android Auto it was nice to have a phone with service to look up gas stations along the way. The one downside is you get a recycled number so you'll get calls and text for the previous number holder and with a set data plan(10G for 3 months NOT 10Gs a month) you have to watch your usage closely.
